Nagato was defeated when he fought against Hanzo the first time. He lost both of his legs in that battle. Then he fought against Hanzo a second time through the Six Paths of Pain. He was successful in defeating Hanzo the second time but at that time, Hanzo was quite old​

I disagree with you, hanzo had to escape so by default he lost, plus if he hadn't escape he would have die.

Pain lost to naruto, remember when they were fighting 1 vs 1 and naruto rasengan him, then took out all of his chakra receivers and found out where nagato was hiding
