It's obvious that Madara is looking to get enough power to enforce his will on everyone.

Hashirama has always defied him, being too powerful for him to control.

Madara was planning on using the juubi to best Hashirama.

Now that juubito has taken the juubi for himself, Madara is going to execute his plan.

Madara actually forced obito to take the juubi, he never had any plan to revive himself through obitos sacrifice.
