He had three years, he perfected it, and one could only do that if they have been informed on the inner workings of the jutsu.

Overall, Sasuke is more aware of techniques, yes. But I myself am not saying knowing abilities makes you smart; it's knowing when to use said abilities and how to apply then to weaknesses.

That, on top of the fact Sasuke can differentiate chakras with his eyes, he should have realized what Naruto picked up.

And how do you know that Oro had any intention of telling Sasuke how it worked? Naruto didn't know how to properly control his chakra, but he was able to master Shadow Clone Jutsu. So, it's not that far off to say a genius like Sasuke could figure out how to master his CM without knowing every detail.

Sasuke has never shown the ability to distinguish Senjutsu chakra. Tobirama only knew because he had intelligence on Myobozukan. Karin, who can differentiate chakra to a great degree, could only note the depth and maddening darkness of Juugo's Sage Transformation, not the Senjutsu chakra. At any rate, even if Sasuke had picked up on Kabuto's or Juugo's chakra signature, it wouldn't matter as it is a balance between physical, spiritual and natural energies, no one Sage Mode will have the same signature as another.

Naruto did not have no type of inside information on the workings on senjutsu against obito if he did dont you think he would use it from the startor when he realised ninjutsu woukd be un effective he only used it because he was unable to use the kyubi at the time and regular naruto would not be able to keep up at a level of this battle so he used his second option sage mode and it just so happened to be the right thing...so you cant use this and say naruto is smarter then sasuke it does not make sense and besides they had no reason to suspect that because he could stop ninjutsu it would be different with senjutsu after all pain was able to absorb both

I realize that this thread is pretty much dead, but I want to add something. Sasuke never had to know what senjutsu(well he had to know that it existed) is, he just had to know that summons use natural energy in their attacks. Sure to actually provide a useful counter attack he would need some knowledge on the Sage Mode, but not actually figuring out the reason why Gamakichi's attack wasn't erased.
