Today's chapter pretty much confirmed why Rikudo was called "Sage"

Since Jubito can't absorb senjutsu using the Juubi power, it's pretty much obvious that Rikudou managed to defeat the Juubi by using Sage Mode.

That's why he's the "Sage" of the "Six Paths".
He was the first one to learn Senjutsu.

Sage also means a wise man. Jiraiya stated he was a monk who traveled the world preaching peace.

While it's possible he was a sennin mode user, just because Sage is in his name doesn't mean it is related to sennin mode.

hey i think its pretty obvious that SO6P has sage made....he was a priest! wat do priests do? they meditate all day long.....being one with nature and shit. So its only natural that the SO6P invented or discovered sage made.
