I fully agree that she's the trigger. Rin's death darkened his view, which caused him to see the world as flawed. He wants to fix the world AND get back Rin.
He's not fixing this world since he's creating a whole other fake world. Why doesn't he take control and makes things better instead of living in a lie ? Because Rin would still be dead. Kakashi is fake because he couldn't protect Rin, Rin is fake because she's dead. Rin is only Rin if she lives.
Rin is always in his mind. His numero uno reason. "fixing this world" is just a bonus
lool , this is for all obito fans and for those who try to make a comeback , that obito is not a bad villain , HE SAID: Inside my mind rin wasn't meant to die , so the one who died is just a fake.Rin is only Rin if she lives.
READ THESE PHRASES THAT ARE IN BOLD , THAT MEANS THAT OBITO HIMSELF SAID THAT RIN IS ALSO A FAKE , MEANING THAT HIS OWN REASONS ARE FAKE FOR HIM TO TURNING A VILLAIN , that's all , hf obito fans lol.
You just effed yourself in the A with that quote, now please read the manga U_U.
Btw dont say "rin is the reason why he blames the system" because if you do then you're absolutely 110% wrong, madara is the reason why he blames the system.
He did it for Rin. Of course he wants to change the system so that things like that won't happen ever again.
But in the end, he did it for Rin. His love and her death made him realize how bad the system is.
She's THE cause, whether you accept it or not.
Did you hear the dude ? The Rin who died is a fake Rin.. Obito is not the altruistic messiah yo want him to be. His primal wish is to see Rin live again.
I'd understand if he wanted total control and make the actual system better but that unfortunately, that still would mean Rin is dead. He wants to change what he perceives as fake world with what ? An even "faker" world. A lie.
Yes she is the cause for his descent to darkness but without Madara none of this would occur.. it's the same with Nagato as well when his best friend died he also pursued the same goal didn't he? So why is it wrong for Obito? Show me a scan where he says he wants to see Rin again then maybe I'll take back what I said. Beside's there is more to it then just Rin simply dying.. she was used as a tool from an opposing village for their personal gain he SAW how the ninja system truly was.. remember how Madara tried to convincehim before of this? Rin's death was a factor only to show him what madara said was true it was meant to open his eyes get idealistic mindset of his thrown out the window.. sure he was crying about Rin's death in the beginning but after that he toughens up and pushes his feelings out the window. Remember that void in his heart? How he doesn't blame anyone or reality?

these manga scans support parts of my previous statement.. not only that but you can see that its not all just about Rin as you're saying he wants to create his world so everything can be the same not just Rin. He even tried to get Kakasi to join..
"He wants to change what he perceives as fake world with what ? An even "faker" world. A lie."
And why does this matter? The dude was manipulated by Madara he is not a normal guy any means. Its what he believes in now just how like what Nagato did when he was in the akatsuki... he thought his way was the right way to peace until Naruto talked some sense into him.
But let's just say you're right.. why would it matter? Do you seem to forget how Uchiha's cherish love? How they turn out when they lose it?

Well, I never said that he only wants to see Rin. I'm saying he wants to live with Rin in a fake world. He's said it. On that same page in my OP, the only Rin he knows he's the Rin that lives. And where is he going to find this "living" Rin ? In an illusion he will create. Where everyone will follow what he thinks to be right. A lie to cover a wound, not very mature. Rin is his reason to see the world as a harsh one. He wants lo live with her.
Haven't you noticed a pattern ?
Do you see him ever thinking about how bad the world ?
All he has in mind is Rin. All the time.
Even when he was about to be absorbed, why didn't he hold on to his "I want to change the world" ? Instead we see him thinking about Rin. That clearly shows us where his priorities lie.

Nagato's case is different because he wanted to make a difference in the real world (I still find that his ideals were a tad too optimistic but let's not discuss that) He wanted people to realize how bad suffering is so that they never make peope suffer again?
But let's just say you're right.. why would it matter? Do you seem to forget how Uchiha's cherish love? How they turn out when they lose it?
It would matter because his reasons would be childish and egoistical, he's like a child that can't deal with the loss of a close one and instead chooses to live a lie.
It would matter because I don't want the main antagonist to have such weak motives.
Accept reality and try to change it. He's deceiving himself and the whole world. I hope he ends up seeing reason.

Because it's clear to him and Madara that peace is an impossible fantasy in the shinobi world. The "real" world is already too broken to fix so the dream world is there means. It's not too hard to comprehend
