What purposes does Kakashi mainly use Pakkun for?

We'll it was demonstrated in the zabuza arc he used them as a way To track zabuza's movements with the use of his blood since kakashi couldnt see him so well due to the hidden mist I believe?

The dogs are used for IMO basically tracking and restraining the target.

Tailgating ninjas who are drunk and running. Just wanted to say that for lols. Anyways they're usually used for ninjas he can't sense like when he was fighting Zabuza. It's sorta like they're an extension of his senses, since he's not a sensory type like most ninjas.
