Did you cheat and use a calculator? Knowing how to multiply is important. Do 10*12 by hand.

You can solve his problem by finding factors of the above numbers. Break them down in to simpler numbers to work with. And that is a trillion, 1,000,000,000,000. If you know smaller exponents, you can use that to solve bigger exponents.

SAVE ME! I'm in a school where math is the weakest point! XD

Remember to keep at it.

Am I anti-deriving this or deriving it?

damn, read too fast ok then, 2x*(-19+64 x^2+96 x^6)

you know that is really smart. I never thought of it that way.

Just one :|

Which one, can you justify you work.

Somebody call Simple Math :mad:_@:

Even simple math is important. Nobody makes mistakes on the hard stuff, its always algebra and multiplication.

Ok stay sharp, here we go.

What is the area of a 2 in x 2 in square?

That's how I deal with large numbers. Like when multiplying 96 and 2, what I do is think to myself: 9x9 is 18 so 90x90 is 180, and 6x6 is 12 so I add 180 and 12 to get 192. That's how I solved the last problem.

Edit: Answer to above problem is 4in^2

Interesting. OK which weighs more, 1 pound of feathers or 1 pound of bricks.

Good Job. Ok try this:

x + y = 2
y + z = 3
x + z = 1

Alright I tried this one out using trial and error. I assumed if I chose one value for one variable, then the other variables must be "whatever value solves the problem". This is how I set it up:

x + y = 2
Possible x values: 0, 1, 2
Possible y values: 2, 1, 0

y + z = 3
Possible y values: 0, 1, 2, 3
Possible z values: 3, 2, 1, 0

x + z = 1
Possible x values: 0, 1
Possible z values: 1, 0

This is assuming that all values are positive integers. Now I assumed that x = 0. If that was the case, based on the chart, y had to equal 2. If that was so, to make each equation true, z must equal 1.

This is the correct answer. You can solve it many ways. Lets not ware the mind out too much and do some simpler problems.

A*B = B*A true or false

True by the commutative property. In multiplication and addition, any way you order the numbers will produce the same answer.

Correct. Ok, here we go

what is 5000 m^3/s in ft^3/min?

Well if 5000 meters is about 1666 feet, with the rate being at units cubed per second, I'm assuming that dividing 1666 by 60 will give me the amount per minute which is about 27 ft^3/min. I'm not too sure though.

I got 10594400 ft^3/s. There are 2118.88 ft^3/min in 1 m^3/s. Conversions are not fun. Try this.Name the next number in the pattern.

Ah I see what happened. You cubed the numbers and I left mine in terms of "unit^3". And that answer is 10. =D
