I'm not saying a full powered Hiruzen is close to Kabuto or Itachi in power (both can beat him low diff) but he isn't as fodder as some people claim

Yeah this summed it up. Only haxx level mountain busters can get through some people's minds therefore they can't understand other aspects of a shinobi and brand anyone "weak"or "useless".

Being completely honest, the only way Kishi can do justice to this character is if he reverts him back to his prime and I don't see that happening.

The reason he's targeted is because Part One feats barely count now, the power scale has been risen and stuff has been retconned such as Hiruzen no longer being the GoS.
