Can't see in the dark and therefore can't keep looking at the Weeping angels.

And she's usually naked.

I'm a somewhat normal looking guy... I die after the hot babe am I right? Or am I the one doing the killing?

This is me... I know...

It is called Achluophobia probably because darkness is always associated with ghosts, paranormal activities...

What you said is about stupid women, while fear of the dark is actually natural, but stupid.

It is basically fear of the unknown, which might turn out very stupid and dumb if its in a familiar place like your house or room, where its supposed you know everything in.

To me, fear of the dark isnt a sign of intelligence U_U

I can't be the teen heart throb, so that leaves either mass murderer or machete fodder meat shield man...

This is starting to get macabre... Anyone dares edit my photo with blood or something and I'll kill 'em...

Most people that are afraid of the dark fear not the dark itself, but what may be hiding in the dark.

It's just a normal reflex. Sight is one of the five senses, if you lose it, you're not going to feel as comfortable as you would if you still had it. Similarly, you wouldn't be comfortable in a situation where you can't hear a thing.

It's mainly fear of the unknown, not the darkness itself.
The mind tends to make us think there might be something waiting to jump out of us so that we feel more inclined to find somewhere lighter, hence allowing us to see the area much more clearly and prepare for any threats.

I guess it comes down to natural instinct. Without our vision, we wouldn't be able to see an oncoming predator in the wild, for example. Course, we don't have to worry about sabre-tooth cats anymore, but the instinct remains.

This guy gets it

It's human nature to fear the unknown. That's why we tend to freak out whenever it's dark, because the contents in the dark are unknown to us until revealed.

well , people is scared of the dark... because... it's dark ? and that's it lol , look what happens in the dark , when you see an horror movie , see what the word dark meants for , etc , that's why ppl are afraid of the dark , for example , when you don't know what to do , you're in the dark , right? you're afraid right? that's pretty much about it :) , that's ppl are afraid of the dark , however , when you're in your own house which you know her (your house) very well , i think that's very stupid that you're afraid o the dark , because there you know EVERYTHING THAT IT'S IN THE WAY , plus , you should have always your phone with you , because with that , there's light and if there's only a small piece of light , then that means that there is less dark , meaning that people are no more afraid of the unknown when there's only a small piece of light :).

Can you really not understand the idea that when you can't see anything it is a little bit unnerving? I will admit it is no reason to scream when lights go out in your own home but when you are in an unfamiliar environment, if something bad were to happen it is alot more likely at night or when there is no light. I don't see how you do not understand that.

People always get afraid when they see something they can't comprehend, or when everything suddenly blacks out, when you don't know the reason, it doesn't matter how much tough you are, although it helps them tackle the situation gracefully. Generally, we rely on our vision to feel our surroundings, above all the other senses. And when everything is pitch black and you can't see a thing, it's a basic survival instinct to tread carefully, as much as possible, and simultaneously experience fear, as the surroundings may contain danger uncalled for.
The difference is that, the experienced, strong-minded people know how to react to fear whereas weak-minded people doesn't.
It is a matter of controlling emotions and learning, that somebody doesn't express fear and others do.

Did I clear it for all of you??

I sleep in the light because its just better.
I don't have to get up and turn off the lights after I finish reading a book.I don't have to stumble towards the light switch before i go to the toilet.I can see if anything is coming at me and the bulb also warms my room.Nothing to do with mentally weak.I have been able to sleep in the dark since the age of 1, i stopped sleeping in the dark at age 9 just because it is better to sleep with light.

Also the dark can be scary since shit can happen when you are alone in the dark.Don't tell me you would be able to spend a day in the forest or a grave yaard when its pitch black alone.

You can be the that geeky guy who is madly in love with the heroine and then at the end saves her from the murderer who was actually her jock boyfriend? :)
