I honestly dont know why kishi decided to make the majority of the beginning genjutsu.. Itachi displayed credible speed and taijutsu feats but they all become invalid because it was mainly genjutsu.

Whats your opinion on this? do you think when a shinobi shows skills in a genjutsu should it still be considered even if its an illusion even though in the past that user showed the capability of doing those feats in that illusion?

If kishi drew a whole fight with taijutsu people would rage
The genjutsu thing was cool I didn't have a problem with it

nah it counts imo cus its not tsukuyomi where itachi could control time and movements... its regular genjutsu where u can move as u would if u weren't in the genjutsu

naw man I did. It was pointless. It could had been used to show more feats in regards to Itachi's capabilities.

I think that the fight should of been a bit longer and more promising; sort of what you say.

Genjutsu should have begun the battle, but I think Itachi went to the MS a bit too early. I would have liked to see more regular jutsu, even if they aren't the greatest, more taijutsu and close combat fighting from the two.

It would have been cool to see Sasuke use some jutsu's he had access to thanks to having absorbed Orochimaru, more then just Oral Rebirth and such low level stuff. It woulda been awesome if Sasuke had made some comment about how Orochimaru had spent his life mastering Forbidden Jutsu; before then using one he had....

That, and Susano'o should have been fought more by Yamata NO Orochi. One shotting it, while making it obvious how OP it is. Also makes it boring. Itachi versus Orochimaru, even for a chapter or two, woulda been cool.

Exactly my point. It was wasted potential. It could had gone more in depth of itachis arsenal and his capabilities because he hardly ever fights anyone.

Genjutsu? We don't have ENOUGH genjutsu fights! The whole schtick about Sakura is that we wished that she had more than just chakra-based taijutsu--we wanted her to be genjutsu-based, because she was labeled to be genjutsu-based as she had an affinity for chakra control.

To be locked in a battle within the recesses of the mind is awesome.

Yeah it counts because Itachi IS genuinely a fast and quick shinobi .. he doesn't show to be running around a lot but he does have significant speed.. btw that genjutsu battle was really beautiful.. :itachi:

The genjutsu was epic, it was way more epic than Sage Mode Naruto vs Pain. I'd rather see genjutsu any day.

Sasuke vs Deidara was my favorite fight, it had intelligence, nj, kenjutsu (taijutsu), genjutsu, everything.

I think it counts, and the battle was very good, especially in storm 2.

Princess, Itachi was world renowned FOR his genjutsu. If Itachi had a major battle and didn't show some damn cool genjutsu skills, I would of been disapointed.

I thought you'd like the Princess bit Lol. I agree though that if anything, the genjutsu could of been far cooler done.

I disagree

Weirdly enough, I thought that was the most perfect battle in naruto history. The build up to the fight was amazing and fight was not too OP but it felt like they both were all in at that point.

Kishi did it justice.

You do know Itachi was dying right and therefore couldn't take things slowly or anything.
