From all the main characters, Sakura is one that Kishi hasn't showed a background story,a good one. There's nothing at all, and she main MAIN characters.....

She's weak, everybody knows that. She's obessed with Sasuke, everybody knows that!

Now, what if she just wants Sasuke because of his power? He has been good since his first years of shinobi and is an uchiha, at that time they thought he was the last one (apart from itachi, that was too powerful)...

So she could want Sasuke to have a daughter/son that would be strong.... Or to steal his eyes (but again not strong enough to bear 1 tomoe sharingan i guess)
