Now a lot of people are going to hate me for this. Because its way not true for what some people will say, though i believe it is true.
We know the S06P's descendants came from 2 clans. Senju and Uchiha. Like the Yin and the Yang of charka. When the Senju and Uchiha charka are combined this allows for the Rinnegan to awaken.
Nagato
According to Madara, he gave Nagato this Rinnegan. Then again, his right eye was also his EMS which later evolved into the Rinnegan. When Nagato's parents die, ( As he is a Senju desecdant, as shown by the red hair indicating he is from the Uzumaki clan which has been proven to be descendants of the Senju clan). There is no Rinnegan justu to enstill fear, or make your target istantly drop dead....However the EMS. Allows you to do so. So Madara knew he'd be a perfect candidate.
Obito
We understand that Obito was appreantly ''dead'' at one point in the manga. However Madara had given him Senju wood clone onto his body so he could live again. This is 1st's Justu, nothing Madara could've achieved without the 1st Cells, which allows us to believe that as charka is pumped all around your body - I can't seem to find the really early picture of Neju looking into Naruto's Charka points to prove this. ( let me see if i can find it later) So this allows the conclusion to be made that he's made up of Senju charka ( the wood clone stuff) and Uchiha charka ( his eyes) which allowed him to awaken the Rinnegan. As shown when he control's the Gedo Mazu / Tailed beasts and 6 paths of pain.

Everyone is bewildered at how Madara got the Rinnegan, however. Late in his life we know the 1st died. When we get the flashback to when Madara is helping Obito, he explains how he has used Senju's charka to replenish cells to stay alive all this time. Which then goes back to, when did he obtain Senju's DNA? Which would mean that the Rinnegan would awaken once he mixed his charka which Hashi's.

Now we know he's a Senju descendant , I shouldn't have to explain that ^^. Where the weird part comes in is that in fact, He's already had Uchiha charka inside of him. Which would've allowed for the Rinnegan to awaken, Then again. He already used Itachi's charka when Itachi got rid of the Edo Tensei. So i am thinking, when the Eternal Tskuymoi plan goes through if it does. Naruto will obtain the Rinnegan due to the mix of the 2 charka's.
Then again, just doing this post. It'd be possible that Sasuke would actually get it.
