Because whenever a character shows some epic power or badass moves everybody seems to jump on the bandwagon:

Happened with Hashirama after everyone saw his ShinsuSenju (Thousand Palm) Jutsu.

Happened with Madara, especially since the recent anime episode.

Happened with Naruto when he got the Kyuubi Chakra and accessed Bijuu Mode.

Happened with Obito, especially now since everyone saw he has become the Juubis Jinchuriki; before that there were alot of people hoping his character got written off (funny how opinions change).

And now people are trying to pre-empt Rikudo Sennin, as people seem to be clawing at supporting the coolest or most powerful character. Cool if people always rated him and awaited his epicness, but fickle if people are only doing it as they have now seen the effect that being the Juubis Jinchuriki has had on Obito.

Rikudo Sennin is obviously untouchable, and the founding father of the Shinobi World; that goes without saying.

Besides Sage of six paths is my favourite character...

Besides Obito deserves to be The Second strongest Naruto character ever...(for now), because in the end he will be the Third(if Naruto surprasss him which most likely will happen).

Obito will never get First place which rightfully belong to Sage of six paths(The man who defeated and sealed Complete Juubi.)

Of course I don't believe that SOSP > Complete Juubi in raw power, but Sage's skills, wisdom/knowledge + intelligence put him above Juubi or allowed him to finish in draw.

Simply he is , so much mysterious aura sourronds his appearance, his character. All characters are speaking about him with such respect and fear. he is legend, everyone look up to him as ideal to become like him.

He defeated and sealed Juubi alone, everywhere he is mentioned he is such badass. His silhouette is simply epic.
His voice has to be awesome as well. He has caring personaly as shown in Kurama's flashback, but can be serious as well as Jirayia talks about him. He knew his purpouse and was doing everything to reach his arm/true peace.

He can admit his failure as he was shown saying that indirectly in Kurama's flashback.

He is my favourite and always will be..., The most anticipating moment in the manga is his appearance/come back/ arrival

Everyone has right to express his opinion so I will support SOSP until the end, noone can't say that I can't. I have grown up watching DBZ so my choice of favourite char could be releated to DBZ as I said.

Well bolded part is a lot overstimation of Sage of six paths and I could say that as SOSP's fanboy

Juubito is currenlty on par with Young King Picoolo, or maybe Picoolo Jr./23rd Budokai Goku..., but nothing more

at the most Juubito > DB

but Juubito is not even early dbz level for sure..., Raditz solos him easily.

SOSP alone, is tricky question but I believe that he may be on par with Raditz, and Complete Juubi would be equal to Nappa...

Juubi Jin SOSP would be at the most Goku Kaioken x10 sayian arc...

Ginyu force solos Juubi Jin SOSP as of now, I think...

Frieeza is beyond SOSP for sure..., Anything beyound Frieza is unreachable for all characters from Narutoverse combined together.

Frieza > All characters from Narutoverse combined together.
