random? one family represents the body of the juubi the other represents his eyes. They are descendants of the SO6P sons who where created with the creation of all things from the juubis yin and yang chakra. Not random at all, since the rinnegan is the SO6P eyes.

I really feel like Senju only won because of the First and Second Hokage. They pretty much carried the clan. If you think about it. Madara and Izuna also carried their clans so if you look at it. More like a 2 vs 2 xD

I highly doubt that. Hiruzuen didnt Carrie konoha alone he had the sannin Donzo and his ROOT, Uchiha, Hyuga. So I highly doubt that Uchiha in their prime where as they were in Shisui and Itachi timeline, I"m sure they were much more efficient in war since they had to battle other clans constantly after loosing so many clansman im sure the anger continued to refine their sharingan, and the Senju was known then as the clan with a thousand jutsu's, and also had to fight other clans constantly as well, becomeing more skilled in the process. Madara(mangekyo),Hasi(mokuton),Tobirama(S/T technique),and Izuna(Mangekyo) are all by products of that crude and savage time. In other words if it wasn't for them being from such powerful clans(the personification of Yin and yang juubi chakra, descendants of the Sages two sons from creation of all things) and always was loosing more and more brethren, who's to say they would have even become that skilled? There would not have been any need to.
