Yata and Totsuka

I see those 2 items/tools as a very cheap way for having Orochimaru gone (for a while), and having a excuse of Itachi being very powerfull.

I think Kishi was out of ideas or just being tired, when he created the weapons.

Just wanted to share MY opinion.

actually in the shinto religion, the story is the susanoo had the yata mirror and the totsuka blade that he won from killing his brother, and he used them to defeat the 8 headed serpent, in this case orochimaru.

Totally agree, also the worst addition to the Narutoverse.

They make no sense, were introduced ridiculously (he literally found them on the floor) they aren't cool or imaginative (literally just stolen from mythology) and have no place in the manga.

I personally think the weapons are cool and are some of the things which make Itachi a powerful character. What would be even better would be if Sasuke's Susano is seen with them, considering Sasuke has Itachi's eyes. I would love to hear what Madara would say about the great spiritual weapons that are known to give the wielder invincibility.

I think the weapons are sealed within his soul kinda like orochimarus kusanagi. That's why sasuke dosen't have them and itachi got reincarnated with them.

This... Anyone who knows about Japanese mythology saw the totska blade and yata mirror comming. People were speculation about the susano'o/izanagi jutsu and what it was going to be when people saw Tsukyomi and Amaterasu. When Orochimaru had the Kusanagi back in part 1 i knew Totsuka no Tsurugi was comming. Now when he introduced them is where i have the problem. it was out of nowhere and no one knows how he got the weapons but then again, we dont know how orochimaru got his legendary sword. for all we know kishimoto just handed it to him for the hiruzen fight. so if you are not mad orochimaru just happened to have the kusanagi, then you cant complain about itachi just happening to have totsuka blade.

The same thing goes for the gold and silver brothers, where did they get their weapon from, how do they find it.
Beside itachi weapon makes more sense since he a genjustu user, and he has a genjustu sword

OT: has anyone ever wondered, that kishi made a mistake with nagato by gaining the rennega, while nagato was little he should have shown the rennega, immediately, he eyes where transplanted but he didn't he, he showed it only when he was attacked, and look at kakashi, danso, or the guy who acquired the bykugan, they all had to cover their eyes since they are not from that clan and where not born with those eyes.

All I know is that they are overrated as hell with little manga panel..., just so much hype without too many manga panles to back up this hype.

Yata Miror and Totsuka Blade have to be yet confronted against current top powerfull techniques as Bijuudama, dust release etc., if these weapons are truelly visible then why won't Kishi bring them now to save alliance's asses ?!

Please don't bring bullshit that they disappeared along with Itachi, because Itachi didn't have them to begin with, just acquired them and equiped to his Sussano, so logicaly after Itachi death these weapons should be possible to find...

Moreover Obito has dead Itachi's body that where these weapons should be, why then Obito didn;t bring them with himself in war..., maybe they have weakness which we have to find out in future.

I don't have any issues with these weapons are being introduced in story, of course they are cool and all. Nice that Kishi give them to Itachi because I like them a lot. BUT KISHI MADE ONE GREAT MISTAKE, writting these weapons are invincible and indestroyable... this is where Kishi's mistake lay. He should put some limits or bounds on that items because it couldn't give opportunity for one fanbase to be annoying and spamming Itachi solos...

EDIT: I hope to see Sasuke wielding them with his Sussano, so we could finally know if Yata Mirror and Totsuka blade can prove their hype stated by Databook and Manga scan or no...

I am waiting for it...
