Well it can become a Logia seeing as it's an element and it's quite easy for Oda to make the user intangible. Furthermore, if it ever became a DF, it would make much, much more sense to have it as a Logia.

Wax is not an incredibly common natural phenomenon. And poison is too broad to be a specified logia. Lets list all the cannon logia fruits:
Smoke
Sand
Fire
Lightning
Dark
Ice
Light
Magma/Lava
Snow

and if we add wood to that list it would not look out of place
