As the title says. Which albums do you consider to be the Greatest Ever? You don't necessarily have to like the artist
(s) that produced the album, just appreciate their success, creativity, innovations, etc. Here are mine!

5. Stadium Arcadium- Red Hot Chili Peppers

Because this is a personal list I have to include my favorite band. Anthony Kiedis, Flee, Chad Smith, John Frusciante (and several other guitarists) have been rocking for nearly three decades. They were just recently inducted into the Rock n Roll HOF and continue to tour and release albums even today (they are coming to my town in September :D). A 2 disc 28-track album where almost every song can stand on its own as a top hit. Long live the Chili Peppers

4. Black Album- Jay-Z

While I don't necessarily enjoy this genre of music or this artist I can not deny the creativity, perseverance and courage it took to write and release this Hip Hop masterpiece. This album speaks to his fans on a personal level. It gives credence to Jay-Z's struggles before the fame; selling drugs (cocaine) and using the money to open his own label, the Black Album is an anthem to Jay-Z's hard work, a real game-changer.

3. Highway 61 Revisited- Bob Dylan

I like Bob Dylan, I don't love him. His twangy, gargled voice is sometimes hard to understand and his instrumentals are lack-luster. That being said, he is still one of the greatest musicians ever, and his album "Highway 61 Revisited" is his magnum opus. The 60's were a surreal time (not that I was alive), and Bob Dylan lead the voices of the anti-war foundation that swept across the nation. His songs "Ballad of a Thin Man", "Like a Rolling Stone" and "Desolation Row" can make one feel as if they have a greater calling. He even is still touring today!

2. Dark Side of the Moon-Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd is a paradox to me. There is so much to say about them, yet I struggle to find the words. Dark Side of the Moon is hands down the most CREATIVE album ever to be released. The five tracks on each side of the album reflect various stages of human life, beginning and ending with a heartbeat, exploring the nature of the human experience. According to band member Roger Waters the album can simply be boiled down to this, "Don't be afraid to care." P.S Try listening to it while watching The Wizard of Oz ;)

1. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band- The Beatles

And here we are. The greatest album of all time. It would make sense that it was made by the greatest band of all time. Arguably, every album on this list could have just been the five greatest Beatles albums, but then that just would have been boring. The band that truly ignited a musical revolution The Beatles legacy will live on forever through every creative artist looking to start a band with a couple of friends. This was the bands eighth studio release. Lennon, McCartney and the gang were tired of the musical direction they were taking, as McCartney explained, "We were fed up with being the Beatles. We really hated that f**king four little mop-top approach. We were not boys, we were men ... and thought of ourselves as artists rather than just performers." Thus, Sgt Pepper was born. Producing what is the most legendary collection of songs ever released.

Yeah, I wanted to include at least one Hip-Hop album. I just felt that this one topped the list of that genre. I don't know enough about Tupac or Biggie to include their work, so I didn't want to act like I knew something I had never heard.

Jay Z sucks and Biggie and Tupac are overrated (but still good)

Nice list.. Especially numero uno. Its a little Van Halen heavy for me, but 1984 was truly legendary. If not top 5 it definitely deserves honorable mention.

This^^ Illmatic is better than the black album and Nas is better than Jay Z

This is great. I've actually met Nas in person! I was in Cabo San Lucas on vacation and he was staying right next to us. Certainly a very cool dude. I love the message in his lyrics, but his albums just haven't had the success that Jay-Z's have. I know success can sometimes be deceiving when it comes to the quality of an artist, but it is still something that has to be considered.

Yeah i couldn't think of a number five so I just put another VH album, maybe a Led Zeppelin or Queen album could go there

Queen's awesome. If anything, they belong in the top 5 most "catchy" bands of all time. I swear, if you get a Queen song stuck in your head, its staying there for awhile.

Nice. Nas is my Favorite Mc and he inspires my writings greatly. Jay-z has had greater Success in his Album because of the fact he usually has atleast 1 radio single per album which is a smart way to go. Success is one key factor of course and Nas has his fair share of success. I like to look more towards an Mcs influence on Hip-hop all together and I would deem Nas as a greater influence mainly in my opinion. I could be considered bias, but his Album Hip-hop is dead truly raised the bar for Hip-hop artist. All the Newcomers speak about how they are bringing hip-hop back to life showing influence as well as artist such as Logic and Kendrick lamar openly sharing how Nas influence their skills.
