The form obito has taken on is most likely the juubi equivalent of naruto's bijuu mode. And if this is the case obito should have a very short amount of time in this form due to him not even having a link to the ten tails at all. They are both fighting for control and are not working together so they should not be able to maintain bijuu mode correct?

But even if he is in control a perfect link is needed to maintain bijuu mode or else he would just revert back to his juubi chakra mode. Naruto was basically in control of kurama because kurama allowed him unlimited access to his chakra but he still couldn't maintain his bijuu mode.

Well, if you think about it, current juubi barely has a mind. It is just massive chakra. Of course, that amount of chakra should be insane to control, but senju DNA is the most op thing in NV, and obito has his super buff, memories of rin. Don't underestimate obito's stupid feelings.

This is true, I think it's like Naruto's first Chakra mode, Powerful, but not as powerful as it would be if he'd have co-operated with eh Juubi.
at this point it doesn't look like anyones going to just man handle Juubito, so this could be the case..

The difference between Kurama and the Juubi is that Kurama has a consious with feelings and thoughts, while the Juubi just wants to destroy everything. I think Obito might be attacked on the inside by the Juubi, but won't have a constant nagging from Kurama like Naruto had. Because of this, I believe the Juubi is much more easily manipulated, but your theory is very plausible.
