This is a good question ... Personally I don't think he was as strong as people suggest ... He had high chakra reserves and really strong seal techs ... And was prabaly an uzumaki. Ok now if obito (rinni,ms) can control jubbi without using any crazy sealing techs then ... Yea he's pretty freakin strong ... How strong probably stronger than the sage who had no rinni or ms or mokuton.

Also the staff was obito manipulating nature chackra , he is well aware of the sages weaponry, of course the sage had it before the jubi because he has a real staff not a nature chackra manipulation staff. Unless you are suggesting that the sage had nature manipulation of the highest level. Which then makes me question why did he have to seal the jubbi in him... Now that I think about it naruto is full of loop holes ... Why did you have to seperates the body ? And put it in a stone seal which isn't used but instead they use the heretical demon statue made from wood lmao ... That's naruto for you.

Sage didn't have Rinnegan? He's shown with it everytime. He doesn't need MS or Mokuton.... those evolved from him

I disagree about Pre-Jinch S06P > Current Obito. I will admit, the Sage was definitely on another level, but to say that is insulting to the other powerful characters. Take Hashirama. Unless Obito intervened and sealed it inside himself, ONE PERSON WOULD STILL BE SUBDUING THE JUUBI. I'd say that the Pre-Jinchuriki Sage was above Hashirama, and a little bit more powerful than Edo Madara. He didn't "defeat" the Juubi per-say, only sealed it. Therefore 1. He had to be powerful and 2. Had to have amazing sealing techniques (Uzumaki probability sky rockets right here because of it).
