Hashirama has several bijuu under his control.

He could control them so easily, that he could share them among other lands like they were cookies.

It says that Hashirama first shared the bijuu's with the 5 Great Lands. That presumably means he had at least 5 Bijuu under his command.

Just imagine Prime Hashbrown fighting with Shinsuusenju along 5 other bijuu. It would have definitely made his fight against Madara much easier.
