[Question] Why do people think Lucy is Weak?

On a lot of forums people have been complaining she is weak but some people don't explain why or say her magic isn't impressive as a reason or information on her magic is wrong or some other stupid stuff not worth mentioning. I was going to put this on hold but it has gotten excessive and to much to handle and the reasons why people think so are confusing. People say she is useless without her magic but if Memory serves me correct against sherry her magic was used against her and she beat Byro in octopus form with a whip. Also when people talk about her fight with Bicklow they get important information mixed up like Leo was Using Lucy magical power and it was a joint effort to defeat him. She was also handling herself well before Leo showed up(For the most part).Why is it that when Lucy is involved people belittle her feats or forget about them. I mean it is one thing to not like a character but it is another to call them weak. Do people even know what the term weak means it means she couldn't handle himself/Herself in a fight. Also people think Lucy can't cast Urano Metria by herself but by definition Of gemini's Power he can only do what the person he transform into can do meaning Lucy most be able to cast the spell herself.

Do people think she is weak because they don't like her magic or her? Or is it because they are comparing her to people like Natsu and Erza? Or because they actually think she is weak? Please respond seriously it will be a big help to determine rather I am overrating her or people just Underrate her. I don't think she is in Erza or Natsu league but people think Romeo could beat her.

I don't think she's weak, but I do think she's not very strong. I would say she's a medium class wizard.... She has some strong spirits, but if she loses the keys she would be in a tight corner, so yeah, medium class.

Even Virgo would do so.

Though contrary to Sakura Lucy is the second most important character in her series

Completely agree with the guys above me! She's definitely not weak! It's been said over and over that Celestial Wizards who can summon two spirits at the same time are very strong! Plus, her spirits can cross the gate whenever they see fit to help her!

And yeah, Urano Metria is boss!

I don't think Lucy is weak she is not as strong as the rest of her team mates but she can hold her own in a fight her proformance in the grand magic games was the most impressive as you saw her growth from seven years ago if match was not interrupted by the guy from Ivan guild that can steal away magic she would have easily won her match....

I 100% don't agree Lucy's weak. You see it may seems that the spirits are fighting for her, but their attacks depend on her magic power so truth be told that Lucy has been fighting all along yet some others don't think so but I do b/c I understand how her magic is. She has a whip and is very great at using it on foes, she is super smarter than her team-mates which makes her more strategetic and book smarts, she can use her Lucy Kick to knock some foes out, she surpassed Loke's previous owner (Karen) after she started summoning multiple spirits, and lets not forget the Urano Metoria a powerful spell she now has that she could've kicked butt during the Grand Magic Games with Flare. There is more to Lucy's magic than some others think so all we have to do is wait and see the true extent (or more) to it.

If she ever solo'd someone that other main characters failed to beat then people would definitely take her seriously and giver her more credit. Whenever the enemy boss is beaten she is either just watching or taking out minions.


I think she has the biggest room to improve of any character in any guild. She certainly has all the right tools. I just don't think she has the stamina that other people have, and without the ability to call a spirit she cannot do anything, that whip just seems useless.

correct me if im wrong, but I think the manga mentioned that great power awaits the celestial wizzard who could manage to be the master of the 12 zodiacs. Yukino offered the 2 other keys but Lucy refused to take it as she treats spirits as her friends and not just a material you can pass on to anyone. Also, urano meteoria is a badass.
one more thing, Lucy /or her mom seemed to have something to do with "the one" magic zeref was referring to. I maybe overthinking things but I see a possiblity for Lucy to be in contract with the Spirit King

It is totally understandable why People think that but if Lucy could fight a high class mage on her own then the point of her calling celestial spirits would be pointless and a waste of magic this making the point of a CS mage pointless.

Most of the stronger opponents go to Erza, Gray and Natsu so for those complaining that she just sits back and watch Natsu or Gray fight the main villans while she just take care of the minions well of course because they are stronger than her. I like Lucy because she makes me wonder what she will do next and how will she improve. If she started off as powerful as Gray and Natsu than her growth wouldn't have been that exciting. Also as far as those 3 other zodiac keys I would have loved for Lucy to have them just for the simple fact now we will rarely see them if ever again. Hopefully Gemini Copied Yukino before they left the Fiore.=D

I feel like Lucy has more to her than you see of her. I don't think she is weak at all because she does open gates to creatures that helped a lot of her friends in the guild
