Even Sasuke's brother who loved him more than himself trusts naruto more and he thinks he can take care of sasuke if he attacked konoha.... not to mention he is grateful to naruto who was sasuke's only friend who understood him....

No, it wasn't that Itachi didn't have faith in Sasuke, but rather because he didn't want to get Sasuke involve with the problem....Itachi even went so far as you say....he should have trusted Sasuke and maybe thinks would have been different....Sasuke could have successful where Itachi failed and that was to change the Uchiha Clan and their parents....Itachi also stated that he should have seen things from Sasuke's point of view and that he should talked to him about the truth.
