Was Madaras plan to slaughter the whole clan?

I don't know about Madras but it was Obitos who manipulated danzo into cornering itachi into doing it so Obito could manipulate Sasuke for infinite tsukyuomi that way he wouldn't have to revive madara.

Madara died either when itachi born or before, sasuke was not born when madara was alive In 606 clearly according to the timeline, so madara could not have been manipulating obito, he was dead when the massacre started. Its either madara told obito to do it, to show the world or remind them that Madara Uchiha is alive and well, so he could form akatsuki,

I am pretty sure, when Itachi heard rumors of an uchiha in the nine tails attack he put two and two and figured it had to have been madara uchiha, knowing that only madara is the only uchiha to ever tame the fox

and yahiko must have acknowledged tobidara as madara again with the madara the only uchiha to tame the fox

You got the timeline wrong. Madara died after Itachi was born, more accurately, when Itachi was four. How do I know that? hmm

Itachi, in the begining of the series was seventeen. Obito attacked the Hidden Leaf village twelve years ago.

17 - 12 = 5

Meaning, Itachi was five at the time when Obito attacked the Hidden Leaf village, which also means Madara dies one year before Obito's attack. How do I nkow that? hmm

Obito was thirteen when he "died". Kakshi is the same age as him. On the begining of the series Kakashi was twenty-six.

26 - 13 = 13

Meaning, Obito "died" thirteen years before the strat of the series, and what happened twelve years before the strat of the series = Obito's attack.

Conclusion: Itachi was four when Madara died.
