Hello guys, AfricanProdigy here bringing you the latest. So recently I've seen a lot of Uchiha or Hyūga overhype and people are debating on which dojutsu wins. Well, I'm here to settle it. Prepare for a LOONNG talk on why I think the SHARINGAN wins. Sit back, relax, grab something to eat or whatever
and enjoy!
(The facts on each dojutsu below is directly from the Naruto wiki)
BYAKUGAN:
The primary ability of the Byakugan gives the user a near 360º field of vision, except for one blind spot at the back of the neck above the first thoracic vertebra.
The second ability is being able to see through solid objects, as well as telescopic sight. It can also see through most barriers, and other things such as smokescreens, differentiate between non-corporeal clones and see through techniques that would otherwise hide an opponent from normal sight.
The third and one of the greatest uses of the Byakugan is the ability to see chakra, chakra flow, the chakra circulation system inside the body with great detail as well as the colour of chakra. It is from this particular ability that the Hyūga Clan are able to employ their ultimate attack style: Gentle Fist. Unlike the Strong Fist, which is focused on external injuries, the Gentle Fist style focuses on internal injuries. Each strike, when placed correctly, strikes along the chakra pathway system, which is the network of vessels that carry chakra. This network is closely intertwined with the functioning of the body's organs, and so, when the keirakukei take damage, the organs suffer as well. There is no defence against the Gentle Fist, since one cannot train one's internal organs to become stronger. The only possible defence is to stop the Gentle Fist's hits from connecting
Particularly skilled users of the Byakugan can take the Gentle Fist style one step further. Along the keirakurei are 361 pinprick-sized nodes called tenketsu, or chakra points, which only the more skilled users can see. When struck, the Byakugan user can choose to either seal, or forcibly open these tenketsu, thus giving the user complete control over their opponent's chakra system.
SHARINGAN:
The first of the Sharingan's powers is being able to see chakra flow. The Sharingan itself gives colour to chakra, allowing the wielder to differentiate them. They are also able to tell if a person is under a genjutsu because the person's chakra flow would be irregular.
The Sharingan's second-most prominent ability grants the user an incredible clarity of perception, allowing them to easily recognise genjutsu and different forms of chakra, though not to the same extent as the Byakugan. This also allows the user to pick up on subtle details, enabling them to read lip movements or mimic something like pencil movements.
The Sharingan's third and most well-known ability is that it grants the user the ability to copy almost any technique that he or she witnesses, apart from other kekkei genkai techniques. The user can memorise ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near-perfect accuracy, allowing the user to use the techniques as their own, or even modify them to create their own new techniques, much like Sasuke Uchiha's Lion Combo.
The Sharingan's final commonly-used ability is capable of inducing a unique brand of hypnosis that involves suggesting actions and thoughts to the opponent through genjutsu cast by simple eye contact between both parties. More advanced Sharingan users can take the hypnosis ability even further to the point where a powerful summon like Manda or even a tailed beast may be controlled. When this was used against Manda and the Nine-Tails, their eyes took on the tomoe pattern of the users' Sharingan while under hypnotic influence.
The Mangekyō Sharingan gives the user access to several powerful techniques, with each user awakening different abilities. These include the powerful fire technique Amaterasu, the almost unbreakable genjutsu Tsukuyomi and, in rare cases, the use of Susanoo. Some wielders awaken the same technique in both of their eyes, such as Obito Uchiha, whose eyes allow the user to use space-time ninjustu such as the dimension-shifting technique Kamui, as well as Shisui Uchiha, whose eyes are both capable of activating Kotoamatsukami.
.......
Byakugan Abilities that the Sharingan doesn't have:
360 Vision
Ability to see chakra circulatory system and tenketsu
Sharingan abilities that Byakugan doesn't have:
Ability to read movements of enemy with ease
Ability to copy ninjutsu
Mangekyo Sharingan advanced ninjutsu and genjutsu
Ability to hypnotize the opposing force (Mangekyo Sharingan may be required)
Based on this analysis it is obvious that the Byakugan wins in terms of sensing where the opponent is and it's Taijutsu abilities. But for the Sharingan, unlike the Byakugan, it can read enemy movements far better (also, it doesn't suffer from the blind spot of the Byakugan) and has far better ninjutsu and genjutsu capabilities. So which one will help you out more? It's close but it is the Sharingan. While the Gentle Fist taijutsu of the Byakugan is really good, a ninja without a dojutsu can have just as great taijutsu abilities as a Byakugan user, if not better (as shown in the case of Gai, Lee, Bee, Naruto, Kakashi a SHARINGAN USER, Sasuke a SHARINGAN USER, A, Itachi a SHARINGAN USER, etc etc) leaving the true benefit which is that you are able to see the tenketsu and chakra circulatory system of the enemy. But since this is the basis for the taijutsu Gentle Fist, this is pointless, because as stated above, some people without the Byakugan or with the Sharingan can have just as good taijutsu to begin with. Then, you're left with the only benefit of the Byakugan which is the 360° vision. Even with it, the Sharingan's ability to read the movements of others and predict them outclasses the Byakugan's 360° vision because even with the Byakugan's superior 360° vision the Byakugan can't read movements as well as the Sharingan, so say the Byakugan can't read the movements of the enemy and can't dodge in time, it must use Kaiten to compensate (for it's blind side as well) while the Sharingan doesn't have to worry about this
On the other hand, the Sharingan has abilities that can't be matched or outmatched, which was the problem with the Byakugan. Ninjutsu like the Mangekyo abilities, Kamui, Susano'o and Amaterasu and genjutsu which is difficult to break, and nearly impossible when under a MS genjutsu like Tsukuyomi are in a league of their own, with very few techniques able to stop them except Sharingan abilities themselves, a Jinchuuriki or Onoki's Dust Release (a kekkai tota) and very few techniques which outclass them. Because of these factors, the Sharingan (MS and EMS included) beats the Byakugan.
