- Had Sage Mode, something that other Sannins never possesed
- Said to be on Itachi's level on multiple occasions when Orochimaru was clearly weaker
- Could have beaten the invincible Pain with infos

He is clearly the strongest sannin

Edo tensei is too impractical and need certain conditions to be use in battle(DNA of the summoned person, not always easy to find and living corps). Nonetheless even if it wasn't impractical, i'd still consider Jiraya stronger since i don't count Edo tensei as part of someone's strength

I'm not sure, prepares orochimaru edo tensei, and then saved for use when suits you

Orochimaru is, imo, the strongest Sannin. He always was. However, Sage Mode could really give him trouble. Though, if it's base vs base or both at their best, Orochimaru wins. Imo.

Jiraiya WAS stronger than orochimaru before orochimaru was sealed by itachi. But since orochimaru has kabuto's sage chakra and Hashirama's dna, Current Orochimaru>Jiraiya (SM or not)

That's true, Orochimaru was always the most powerful, without Edo Tensei Jiraiya is stronger, but Orochimaru can finish it easily with Edo Tensei and his tankiness.

And even after jiraiya learned sage mode Orochimaru was the one the third was going to choose to be hokage, if he hadn't gone crazy.

Then when Orochimaru defected Jiraiya failed to stop him, even though he had Sage mode.

Then there's the fact that after Oro defected he kept looking for new jutsus to master while Jiraiya focused on his books.

And last there's when Orochimaru implies that he was always above Jiraiya saying that even without arms the gap was still evident( or something along those lines).

lol about that akatsuki invitation thing ....... do you know why jiraiya took naruto ?? ok in case you are wondering, to protect him from the akatsuki after learning that they were targeting the nine tails jinchuuriki (kakshi's care wasn't enough anymore) and may i remind you that naruto was never captured under jiraiya's watch (why would they invite a good guy ?? are you saying that jiraiya is not kage level ??. i posted once and i do believe that the :
