Who is stronger Jiraya or Orochimaru?

Orochimaru has already beat Jiraiya 2 to 0. Plus, I'm gonna use some A>B>C logic here that can be applied..


Orochimaru fought head on [for entertainment] against 4-Tailed Cloaked Naruto with no Jutsu, suffering from necrosis still and a fatal fever..... Also with no preparation time.


Jiraiya fought and tried to control Naruto at his 4-Tailed Cloak state and was almost killed, with preparation and full knowledge of Naruto's wild abilities and countermeasures.

Given that, if they both were at 100%, I'd give it to Orochimaru, countless experimentation on himself plus the Immortality Jutsu gives him an upper hand over Jiraiya who unlike Tsunade & Orochimaru both has no healing capabilities.

Jiraiya didn't fight NAruto in a tailed beast form...... He was trying to help out Naruto.... Orochimaru kept his distance. lmaoo.

And by the A>B>C logic Tsunade is the stronger then.

Ya, Orochimaru was trying to kill Naruto. Jiraiya was trying to sub-due him.

Drunk Lee, to be sub-dued, needed Gai and Neji to restrain him, even though Gai could have easily killed him.

Orochimaru didn't try to kill him, he just tried to fight for fighting's sake at the time out of boredom and distraction from his already existing problems, Orochimaru already knew he wouldn't be able to kill Naruto in this state. Naruto was going much harder against Orochimaru. And comparing Guy's situation to Jiraiya's is a baddddddddddddddddd reference, to be honest. Jiraiya wouldn't have been able to kill Naruto that easily either way, and he had to contain him before going into the 5th Tail. If Jiraiya wouldn't have contained him as quickly as he did and kept fighting, Naruto would've been pushed further and Jiraiya would ultimately lose. But that's not the point of this thread.

Edo tensei is too impractical and need certain conditions to be use in battle(DNA of the summoned person, not always easy to find and living corps). Nonetheless even if it wasn't impractical, i'd still consider Jiraya stronger since i don't count Edo tensei as part of someone's strength

Jiraya is my favorite char along with minato and itachi, However, I think they are equal with a slight advantage in favour of Orochimaru, Oro is very strong, and nobody really defeated him, jiraya is mighty strong too, having all these skills and pa and ma. Oro is a scientist, J-Man is a teacher.

i LOVE this match up =D.
originally they were both rivals/equal (before oro experimented on himself) but here is the trick, orochimaru is a character that is all about getting stronger at any cost/ using any method so it was only natural for him to become stronger (a working project vs someone who died).

kishi intended for these two sannin's to be equal from the start, remember when oro was crippled (yet some of his abilities doesn't require hand seals), kishi gave jiraiya a handicap for them to be equal but that was with their original power (original oro vs jiraiya = same level, though jiraiya has an edge/SM).

in a 1on1 fight, jirayia can put up a good fight using the knowledge he has on oro (they know each other very well, strength/weakness) but again the current oro would obviously win (though it won't be easy).

Not when any feats have yet to be shown with it; and Hashirama's DNA will allow him to enter Sage Mode. Until he reaches that point; Orochimaru is the weakest.

Though, he is still superior to both base Jiraiya and Tsunade.

One BIG advantage, wait no, TWO advantages Orochimaru has over Jiraiya... Stop making the characters so static and battle oriented.

Orochimaru has IMMORTALITY and means of complete regeneration, whilst Jiraiya will be exerting himself much further PLUS he'll hold back holding onto the notions of him & Orochimaru still being teammates. Orochimaru will whittle down on Jiraiya's defenses and even with Sage Mode, what can he do if he can't kill him? Wouldn't the Hydra Technique be Jiraiya's Sage Mode opposition?
