Introduction
Unlike my last thread, I made this in the discussion section since usually its people that dont frequent the versus section that have problems providing the neccesary info to create a debatable matchup. Usually these people are the ones that are more into the the discussion section that venture over into the Versus section that make threads where the OP is simply "Who Wins?". In this thread, I'll go ahead and show you what is neccesary to provide and why.

Conditions of Matchs
Setting the Conditions is very important as its the most vital part of information in debating a match-up. This is where you describe the state of the character and any other factors in the battle. Such as, if you were doing a thread on Itachi vs Minato then in the conditions section you would want to say what state Itachi is in. Is he like he was in the manga and is sick? Is he healthy? Is he his Edo Tensei form?
Stating the state the charcters are in also determines the abilities they can use, such as Alive Minato not having Rikudo Mode whilst his Edo from does.
Any other odd ball things you want to add can also go in this section, such as having both Itachi and Minato fight with blindfolds on.

Knowing your enemy
Stating the knowledge that each character has on eachother is the second most important part of a match up as it dicates the flow of the battle and how characters will fight eachother.
Such as, If Itachi and Minato were fighting and Minato didnt know anything about Itachi then would Minato try and avoid eye contact? If Minato doesn't have the intel then the argument can be made that he wont avoid it as he doesn't know that he should.
The three most mainstream things to put in this section are "None" meaning neither knows anything about eachother. "Full" meaning that each knows everything about eahcother, and "Manga" meaning that each only know what they knew in the manga about eachother.

Location, Location, Location
Location is the next thing you want to add. Its not as important as the two above but can be make a break a match depending on what characters are being used. Such as, Kisame is much more deadly if the fights over an ocean than on land. Or Gaara not having to make sand if the fight takes place in a desert.

Keeping Your enemies close
This is the least important of the standard information given in Versus thread but, like location, can play a major role in threads. If one character is much faster than the other then it can be argued that the slower one gets blitzed if the match starts off really close.
Like-wise, if you have someone like Deidara in the match and theres a lot of ground between the two combatants when the match starts then it can be argued that Deidara can get into the Air unlike if the match started off close.

Restrictions
Restrictions are only needed if the match up needs to be more fair. Such as, If you have a fight between Sasuke and Sakura, then you may want to start listing things that Sasuke isn't allowed to use so that the matchup can be more debatable.

All in all, This is what a standard thread should look like if you chose to create one. Using the example of Itachi vs Minato
