outmatched? lol. minato was never in any real danger. if you forgot, minato marked bee for life.
the reason why he never killed bee, is because minato is a merciful badass.

That doesn't mean he soloed him, In order so solo someone, you have to be alone, you have to defeat him alone. That's why the word "solo" is used. The yasaka no magatama alone wouldn't have destroyed the gravitational "sphere", and nagato would've paid more attention to itachi with naruto and bee weren't there. Itachi didn't solo nagato, so stop the fanboyism.
