But one problem, people who vote..what if they don't follow the manga (say Bleach) & don't find something funny. It could hamper peoples judgment to vote ya know?
Exactly.
And it's not like some attempts and suggestions weren't made before. Xentinel add a theme (XMas) to Naruto pages once, to spice things up but the comedy weren't as good.
On popular suggestion, we tried a Death Note theme once instead of Naruto (Week#9). After submissions and voting, this is what happened. Nearly all votes were tied, as most submissions didn't click with voters. By such, I don't think, there were winners announced for that Week. Then on Week 10...
I have received numerous complaints and messages that persons couldn't participate, or couldn't use the last page to their advantage due to the introduction of outside manga they don't understand. If there should be problems due to this, the contest would eventually die. I'm trying to prevent that, and so, I've decided it would be best we keep in the naruto category for now. This is a naruto website, everyone here has an understanding of the anime/manga Naruto. As for FUB week 9 winners, I haven't got the chance to speak with Rei about the prizes due to the placings, when I make contact, the FUB week 9 winners/prizes will be announced. For now, we need to get the contest back running, in order to do this, I will need enough submissions each week (let's aim for 20minimum), so tell your friends everyone.
This is how it was decided that, for the best of everyone, there won't be that type of gamble anymore. Even if there might be many lovers of different manga, it won't happen. As contest moved on, Drizzy allowed everyone to choose any pages they wanted without restriction from Naruto. This made the contest highly interesting. Another thing that I suggested long ago, when the contest was a 2-weeks newborn, was to fill-up 3-5 consecutive pages instead of a sole one (as the humor was more developped and connected better). Although, that was rejected back then, now Drizzy allows participants to mix/merge pages together. So, more room again for everyone.
In short, FUB was initially an experimental contest and thereby, suggestions were always welcome. But basically, it should be solid ones and mostly without risks. Given that, proposing another theme had disastrous ending and that, it still got drawbacks, this won't be repeated again imo.
And like Cali said, this is not a One Piece forum but a Naruto one. So, the Organizer is definitely not doing a One Piece version either.
