About the 4 Hokage barrier

Yeah, it's awesome and all of that, but one has to wonder, if it takes 4 Hokage level ninja to use it, why did they bother to learn it? Did they realistically expect to use it at one point? I mean seriously I doubt Hashirama thought he would live enough to have Tobirama, Hiruzen AND Minato together and perform the barrier at one point.

Likely doesn't. The Sound 4 had used a technique similar to the four edo kage's (which was a hilarious turnabout plot device if you compare the two scenes). It's all due to how much chakra the four can dish out.

They all learned it to use it... Just because they used it together dosen't mean they cant use it separately...

Im pretty sure they only used it together because there opponent was the Juubi...

Being Hokage and being Hokage level are two different things. One can be considered for the position of Hokage on strength but never have been one. They're just strong enough to be a Hokage.

Meaning... Tobi is a kage and he was alive during hashi's time. When Hashi died someone needed to take over. When Tobi died Hiruzen took his place but if Tobi died younger we may have seen a differnt kage because Hiruzen may not have been old enough.

It has to do with more the scale of the technique. It is primarily Hashirama's technique seeing as how last chapter he was saying "So.. My Myoujin still works on him?" but needed the assistance of 3 other Kage level Ninja (Which in retrospect could have been his clones as well) to execute on the scale of subduing the Juubi.

The technique needs four Shinobis powerful enough to hold the barrier. And the powerful shinobis who must be capable of holding the barrier are mostly Hokage level shinobis and NOT THE HOKAGES. There is not such requirment that only Hokages are capable of using that technique.
Even Madara (not a hokage but still a hokage level), Jinchuurikis (not a hokage but still of Hokage levels, not all the Jinchuurikis), Kages from other villages (not a Hokage but still a Kage) care capable of using this Jutsu.

You don't have to be Hokage to do it In a large village you can have several Hokage or Higher personnel who can learn it and perform it. Remember Hokage is just a title given to someone to be the leader.

Why not? He's powerful enough to be on a Hokage level . Also he can learn that barrier jutsu.

Exactly, I thought of this right after the jutsu was used, and made a post about it. It's utter bullshit from Kishi, as much of the current events are.

You don't need four HOKAGES.
You need Hokage level people.

It means that Kakashi, Minato, Hiruzen and Itachi wouldn't have problems with it.

And it means shit.
Probably the jutsu is in the scrolls of seals(the one that Naruto stole).
So probably it's taught to some ninjas within the village.
Maybe some ANBU.
