As someone who usually dislikes Mecha, I loved this show :D Ending was just amazing, even though I knew it would happen ever since
Lelouch killed his father
And that ending song was perfect !

First anime ending that I am satisfied with.

Can anyone recommend any other anime this good ? Already watched Death Note btw.

As I said, so far this is the only ending I was not disappointed with, not even a little :)

Big question. Do you think he lived or died in the end :O. Personally I say he lived considering he killed his father as you said and got code, therefore he would have code and geass -> code geass, and could not die.

That's exactly what I like about the ending !! It leaves enough evidence to satisfy both sides !
If you believe Lelouch died you have your perfect ending, Lelouch sacrificed him self as a king, leading the path to peace.
(as he always said, If the king does not lead, then how can he expect his subordinates to follow)

If you believe Lelouch lived you have a perfect ending, whole world thinks he was killed by zero, bringing the path to peace, while actually staying alive and living forever along with C.C

Code Geass teaches you how to save the world. Not many animes can do that.

Exactly! and I loved how it portrayed Lelouch's weaknesses and that EVEN he can get into a mess sometimes...It doesn't make him totally perfect, It also gave him competition with the whole Prince schniezal thing and how he was the only worthy opponent of Lelouch..

The zero requiem was perfect, a fitting end for a fitting character! The deaths of other characters were also unexpected and were throughly planned out, not to mention incredibly sad as well, and I loved the rivalry between Suzaku and Lelouch... okay that's enough fangirling for now...

YOU HAVE CODE GEASS PLAYING TO ANGEL BEATS....SO MUCH WIN RIGHT NOW!

The ending was amazing...and honestly, no matter what anyone thinks...I honestly go with Lelouch survived in the end...managing to take Charles's Code while keeping C.C.'s Geass making him achieve Code Geass.

Oh man an amazing series. As of now....don't have anything along the lines of Geass or Deathnote I can think of!

R2 is way too fast-paced, other than Lelouch there really weren't characters that actually had any development

That is your opinion, however I must disagree :p

About that, they actually made two different endings which they showed one of for us here in West if I remember correctly, in which you see him alive, and another in which he dies( i.e. you don't see him alive), I believe it was the Japanese version Or it didn't have anything with where they were aired at all~
Anyway, for me he died, as I saw that version, but to others he's still alove, be it as it may, the story was epic either way!
Dat ending song..

As for recommendations: I'm not sure about how animes measure up to one another, but try FMA(Fullmetal Alchemist) Brotherhood, if you havent' already.

Aw shuwcks!
Well, I can't think of anything now, like the dilemma of chosing what to eat when presented with a buffé, but I'd very much like to recommend a really good read; It's a manhwa called 'Noblesse', there are many chapters and one of the few manhwas I actually enjoy!

I really loved Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom. It's about a pair of assassins working for a Mafia organization in Los Angeles. Give it a few episodes until they finish training. I always compared it to the Jason Bourne movies.

Ending was pretty cool, same sort of ambiguous ending that you can make up several theories as to what happened.

It's divided into 3 parts. A lot of people complained about the 3rd part because it shifted the entire genre for a few episodes. and character ages/appearances get really mixed up. But I thought the genre shift worked well for character development before its final shootout.

Good show, but Cal's character is plain horrible.
