does that even follow the same logic as the sharingan genjutsu?in a sharingan genjutsu the caster should have an eye contact with the target,once established he'll cast his genjutsu(there's nothing as automatically getting caught in genjutsu by having an eye contact,people should get that!)

In Tsukiyomi, 1 second is the equivalent of nearly three days. This would that within a day of being caught in the genjutsu, most people, in Tsukiyomi would die from "old age" in the genjutsu even though they're still young in the reality.

And in the reality, how would their bodies get nutrients if they're in a genjutsu world? They wouldn't be able to because they can't move and because they think they're "eating" in the Genjutsu world. which would mean that all the humans would die within a day or so.

So either Obito wants to kill humanity, or Kishimoto just screwed up as he usually does.

I'm going with the latter.

But that still wouldn't explain how the Genjutsu would work when the moon is hidden

He doesn't need to maintain it just how Genjutsu users don't need to actively maintain Genjutsu, though I might be wrong on this point. Even if he had to. Juubi gives him a nigh infinite chakra supply, so there is no running out.

It doesn't matter if the moon can only be seen at night cause once they've made eye contact with Obito's eye on the moon, they'll be caught. Does Itachi need to maintain eye contact to Genjutsu someone? No.

the juubi isn't in its final form yet, but what I'd assume would happen is that the juubi's power would be used to sustain life

casting genjutsu on the moon amplifies the radius, but we don't know by how much. Even if it's blocked by clouds, the moon always returns eventually

once caught in the genjutsu, there's probably no need for the moon because you won't be able to escape it

Madara was shown gaining his immortality from being connected to the gedo.....so becoming immortal via being its host isn't impossible

I'd assume the only reason the SO6P didn't live forever was because he chose death due to it being the natural order of things

you do realise the bold part is even against the genjutsu concept?
lets see what is genjutsu?it's controlling the chakra flow of the oppenent brain,and how a sharingan genjutsu work,eye contact,then he'll cast his genjutsu on the enemy,the problem with the whole thing is against this concept we see obito projecting his genjutsu on the moon so everyone will magically and automatically get controlled,that's why i find that this genjutsu contradicts all the ones that were used in the manga,there's no such thing as automatically get caught in genjtusu after having an eye contact with an MS eye,the user has to take his part in timing and casting his genjutsu on the enemy once the eye contact is established,in the infinite tsukuyomi that effort isn't even needed somehow.

yes i've read that,they'll use the moon as their eyes to cast it(which is itself a mystery how it will happen),and that's my problem with it,how can they control everyone like that?i mean it's not like having an eye contact with the moon will automatically leave him hypnotised,the user has to take part in casting his genjutsu on the victim and following the genjutsu's logic as being controlling the victim's chakra flow in their brain,it requires that the caster shall conrtrol every person individually at the same time and i fail to see that he'll succeed in controlling such huge number of people at the same time,it's not like a sharingan genjutsu has a magical way to control the person without following the rules of how genjutsu works.i think that here you're the one that makes it look so easier that what it is.

I bet madara had other plans after becoming juubi jin.
Lets assume plan worked cast genjutsu then what happens people will start to die because of not getting nutrient.
