I believe kamui works better when Obito is near him. And he was replenished by kyuubi chakra.
According to databook Kurenai is quite fast. Actually Shizune too.

Shizune's weapon is poison. Needles that can be shot from a distance and the suiton really isn't killing anyone. It might not even hit them since the jonin here all have 4 in speed in the databook. And Kakashi's suiton was slow anyways so... They will have attacked before Kakashi launches it.
But still it will take a moment to get out from Kurenai's genjutsu. Only a couple of second but still. Everyone else would have attacked by then. And Asuma even has ranged ninjutsu skills so he can strike from a distance too.
