This is pure speculation, and sorry I have no evidence to support my claim but here it goes.
We've all been wondering what does Madara mean
when he said he still hasn't played his trump card yet. Now currently Madara holds some of the strongest powers anyone could ever possess, the Rinnegan, the EMS, and the Mokuton. It's really hard to think what else could top all of these powers other than being a Jinchuuriki, but we know it's impossible, now that Obito currently has the Juubi sealed inside him. Now have we really thought of all the possible powers?
Let's look at Hashirama, The God of Shinobi. What makes him special is his Mokuton and his bloodline that has strong ties with the Sage. But Mokuton is not his maximum power, he has access to a stronger source of power, something that makes him a demi god in narutoverse. It's the SAGE MODE! It was the power he used against Madara and Kyuubi's combined strength. The power he used to restrain the Juubi a godly force.
Sage Mode is probably the only ability that can put Madara's overall power a tier higher. We've seen what it can do to it's users.
Here's something interesting, during the war Kabuto mentioned aside from Edo Tensei, he has a trump card up his sleeve. Later in the manga, at his battle against the Uchiha Bros, he revealed his Dragon Sage Mode.
