Why Orochimaru wanted revenge on the leaf.

So there are a number of different theories people have but no one knows for sure exactly why Orochimaru wanted to destroy Konoha and get revenge on the leaf. I personally believe it's because he was denied Hokage, what's your opinion?

So here all theories can be discussed, debated and decided. =)

No one knows for sure but the most obvious reason to me is that he was denied to become Hokage by Sarutobi.
