It can have huge impacts on large battles. It has other uses. Knocking out people with weaker spirit(haki). Also it was used to unlock a lock and nullify an explosion. Maybe it is the emmittance of ones spirit to negate forms of phenomena such as consciousness or explosions?

Well, you saw how Luffy stopped Ace's execution from a distance, where he couldn't reach him physically. And fighting 50.000 enemies take time and stamina, even for Luffy.

I wouldn't call it lame, then you're overreacting. As a symbol of authority it's one of the highest in existence. People automatically flock around the ones who have the King's Disposition and thus it allows them to build an army. The KD is almost a magnet that attracts strong people and subjugate weaker ones.

Also to underline your power it's an indispensable tool. Oda said that Shanks would have knocked out all 100 000 soldiers on Fishman Island. If you knock out a 100 000 man army, regardless of whether they were 'normal' or not, in a flash with not even moving, well then you actually make a statement that you simply stand at the summit of the world by means of something only a rare few people have been blessed with. So it's definitely not lame.

But yeah the problem is that, despite its rareness, several of the main characters have it and as a result it becomes less important in regards to those characters. Oda hasn't really explained the importance of the KD when two wielders of it encounter each other.

Conquerors haki. Otherwise known as "Kings Haki" is far from lame. Its true power just hasn't been displayed as of yet.

Regardless, apart from knocking down weak fodders it scares the sh$it outta anyone of someone has it because only big-shots have this type of Haki.

Also, remember in the war when that marine HQ vice admiral witnessed luffy's "conquerors haki" he was scared $hitless!! This to me proves that kings haki is not lame . It has been hyped up for a purpose I'm sure we will find out in the future of the manga.
