Hashirama has knowledge on Rinne Tensei. Arguably the most secretive of techniques the Rinnegan offers. If he knows about that, who's to say that he doesn't know more? The mere fact that he knows about it is astounding probably leading to the conclusion that there is also something reminiscent of the Uchiha tablet on the Senju Side; I mean, Rikudou chose his Younger son for a reason...

And arguably the best asset for Madara and his Rinnegan is Preta, and to an extension, Deva Path. Preta is a non-factor since Mokuton is actual trees and not pure chakra. Deva is more dangerous but Shinsenjuu has more destructive power.

Hashirama has knowledge on the most secretive technique that the Rinnegan offers. Therefore, he is imperative intel on Madara's biggest upgrade. Madara himself stated that his full power is Perfect Susanoo and from the manga we know:

Shinsenjuu > Perfect Susanoo

Intel on Rinnegan = Even footing for the fight. With intel on on Madara's biggest upgrade the fight in question is far more equalized than people like to think.

Mokuton is not debatable because the second Hashirama goes SM his Mokuton makes Madara's look like fodder.

Now if you read carefully you can see that he is not quite sure if that is indeed the Tech because he is asking a question.. Which I can only come to one conclusion and that is, He read or heard about it and that is why he asked if that is Rikudou's Kinjutsu? Rinne Tensei?
In English, when you don't know for certain you ask a question that ends with a question mark.
When you are sure you then you use the exclamation point.

I see what you mean, but he was asking to solidify his stance. He believed it to be Rinne Tensei, and then after that he told Naruto and Sasuke to go after Obito because he knew that he was going to revive Madara.

I love Hashi but I have to say that current Madara is stronger than Hashi right now plus Oro did not bring any of them back full power so Maddy > Hashi at this point.

I guess the title was off, but Hashirama will need minimal help at most. Sasuke is probably going to help Hashi because he wants to end the Curse of Hatred, and with Sasuke they take Madara.
