Yeah, I'm developing a potential anime right now and I'm desperately trying to create another main character and potential love interest for the main protagonist. I've got absolutely no idea where to go with her, so I was hoping you guys might be able to help out:)

I'm looking for a character to help balance out the different physical and personality attributes found within the main group, so I should probably let you guys in on who they are first:

  • 13 year-old boy whose slightly arrogant and not the friendliest of sorts, but also intelligent, cunning, and helpful to those who need it. He's not very skilled in close combat at first, his only real skills being his speed and some prowess with throwing stars, and he usually relies on a special hidden power of his to get him and his group out of tight spots.
  • 17 year-old girl whose somewhat stubborn and aggressive, but also wise and secretly caring. She's pretty skilled in hand-to-hand combat, even against multiple enemies, but not so much with weapons.
  • 18 year-old man whose street-smart and has a typically clueless and curious persona, but he's also quite insightful and can be very serious when necessary, willing to do anything to protect those he cares about. He's not very skilled in close combat, but he's an excellent marksman with his two firearms.
  • 22 year-old twins with very friendly, but also serious personas. They almost always say the same thing at the same time, much to the curiosity and frustration of the other members of the group, but in truth, they do have their own thoughts and opinions, and are just very good at understanding what the other is feeling at any given time. Both are highly capable in hand-to-hand combat and have prowess with shuriken and their katanas.
I know I want her to be about a year younger than the main character, but that's about it. If you guys have any ideas for what other attributes this sixth character could have, I'm all ears:)

(p.s. - I plan on putting a five-year time-skip into this story, so no, I'm not making a 13 year-old and 12 year-old fall in lovexd)

There needs to be a guy who is plain funny and sarcastic, no one takes him seriously but through that, that character can become extremely dangerous and be the antagonist secretly without them knowing their friend is the bad guy :)

I always preferred hard nosed sarcastic *****s.
Eh, the one girl I already have is already aggressive and kinda thick-headed, so I'm thinking otherwise. Thanks for the suggestion, though:)

I don't plan on having a character like that, sorry, but also, I'm trying to create a young girl that can serve as a love interest, if you read the thread a little better. Thanks for the thought, though:)

Hmm... First, you need to tell me who's the main character of these xD Not the 13 year old, so I suppose, it's the 18 year old man? His clueless persona... does it really match up with him having her as a love interest? If he's clueless and all, haha xD I kid. I think I have to think some more on this one, though, Germanicus is probably the right one to ask for sure.

How about a 12 year old boy? It could be his best friend, someone a bit more humble to balance the main guy's arrogance, but equally skilled and cunning. When they grow up, they start to get closer until they finally understand that they love each other more than just friendship. They would have the same path, more or less, but the more arrogant would push his friend away because he himself wouldn't want to admit what he is feeling.

I don't really know the world or what story you're trying to portray. If the love interest is going to portray the typical damsel in distress role, my interest in the story is lost. But the gay twist would be nice.

You can even keep it cool, have girls in the mix, maybe a possible discovery of sexuality and desire with the older girl, but ultimately it's about his best friend, and even more ultimately, it's about being true to oneself, and being the best version of yourself despite your sexuality and despite the gender of the person you love, and maybe, just maybe, love takes a form much different than what you expected initially.

Btw, I'm not saying for you to make them girly or flamboyant. They can be perfectly down to earth and cool.

No, it's the 13 year-old, man. You're misreading posts again, aren't you? XD I said I'm putting a five-year time-skip in the story, so I'm not actually making a 13 and 12 year-old fall in love, but rather an 18 and 17 year-old:)

No, it's not a damsel-in-distress thing at all. She actually proves rather helpful during his journey, but she does have some flaws, too, just like the rest of them. I would love to create a gay character at some point in the future, just to experiment with that kind of scenario, but not for this story, no. And yeah, I would definitely not make them out to be flaming homosexuals if I ever didxd

If no knowledge of the universe is an issue, I'd be happy to elaborate through some PM's=D

Since you're making in anime, I'd made my suggestion in anime lingo. Afterall, anime stereotypes might be more useful than bookish description in your case.

So, your MC is a half bit of a male Kuudere. Silent, arrogant and someone with more wit than brawn! His willingness to save his group though demonstrates his caring side. That being said, since you want us to suggest a heroine for her, more than his traits and powers, it's his emotional affinity/personality/likings/dislikes that would be interesting information. Right now, I picture him as a Lawliet x Sena Kobayakawa crossover. Or perhaps even a laid-back Conan Edogawa.

Let see your other characters: A tsundere, a cliched friendly guy & 2 weirdos for fanservice, I assume...

Given that you want a heroine that's not like those supporting casts and who balance the traits of the group, I'd say...

The heroine should be a Himedere/Kamidere type. Her show-off and arrogant attitude will make for a sweet spice combination with the MC. Preferably, she should be hyperactive, attention-caring, don't give a damn about people other than her dear friends. If the MC is unconventional, the heroine should be drop-dead sexy one imo, and a nosy one about her physique preferably. To have an intimate alchemy, she should hold the MC in high regard. And she should be the one to make advances to him. Sena Kashiwazaki or Haruhi Suzumiya are interesting characters to inspire yourself from, if you like my idea. Given that the tsundere is more the skilled fighter while the MC unconventionally relies on speed, the heroine should be a mix of both - preferably trained in battle but who doesn't fancy fights. Perhaps, more of an analyst/tactical leader of the group.

You should share more info, we could develop things better. Especially how you want the relationship to be!

I suppose I could give you a better glimpse into what world I'm trying to create with this anime:)

Oh no, the tsundere is the main heroine, but she's actually the love interest for the clueless guy. She's like Nia from Gurren Lagann if I had to label it. She holds a great deal of importance to the plotline on her own, but I'm currently not sure what I want that to be.

In terms of the relationship, the hero and the twins start the journey out on their own, and she's one of those that he meets along the way and he thinks she's kinda useless at first, but overtime, he begins realizing both that there's more to her than that, and that she's actually being a greater asset to their group than he is. Over the five-year time-skip, he boosts his strength and combat prowess exponentially, presumably to prevent a devastating loss that happened before it from happening again, but he also starts realizing that he wants to be the one protecting everyone else instead of vice-versa (specifically her as he soon realizes, as well). Sometime between then and the epilogue, they declare their love and...well, the rest is historyxd That's a basic layout of their relationship, but if you wish for me to elaborate more on the entire story, I could PM you like I'm gonna do with Lili:)
