but the thing is..............

the melting point of rubber varies depending on the type of rubber in question. Vulcanized rubber has no melting point because is will decompose before it melts. Other rubbers will melt at 350 degrees fahrenheit.

how to get this temperature

1.absorb from environment
2.from gear two high speed
3.eat mero mero fruit
4.or may be red hawk next step

There's a difference between risking your life for a cause and just plain stupidity I doubt Luffy would do it and I don't think Oda would do this either it's too cliché since Mr. Fantastic and Plastic man can already do it (I think)

I'll explain it better:
Gear 4th (as this guy said) could possibly allow Luffy to mold his shape by heating himself up to extreme temperatures (like a full body red hawk/fire aura) to form many different shapes and attack with any part of his body.

And grant Luffy a resistance to cuts (his Haki can do this , so this is not possible as it is RUBBER)

This also could possibly grant Luffy accelerated healing powers and super speed (again this is already present in 2nd gear bro , please...)

And flying abilities (which I only see if Luffy becomes a plane which would be really weird)

What I would like 4th gear to do is a full body Red Hawk - fire like body aura. This heats up all of luffy's attacks and can allow Luffy to shape and mold his body into any shape he would like (only specific parts one or two at a time , and along with this can cause great pain for Luffy when using it (a disadvantage because ALL gears have one) he could also suffer from burns after usage )

and accelerated healing (which will allow Luffy's burns to heal much faster for repeated usage (Not to say this won't hurt him either))

Along with liquidising for a completely free-form body once a certain temperature is reached (only obtained over time as it would be interesting for Luffy to slowly heat up and have steam slowly transform into flames) where he can freely melt his body and reconstruct it a lot like a logia user. However alike all gears this should be hard to attain and also very tiring and taking a lot out of our captain Luffy.
