Naruto has a multitude of flaws and imperfection which is startlingly absent in many heroes I read in fiction. He's relatable, his vulnerable in many areas, and he's kind of a fish out of water. He just feels real to me, even with his heroic qualities.

He doesn't give up and even when it seems like giving up is probably the best course of action... He mostly finds a way to say no and just keep trudging through. I also like that he acknowledges he can't be where he is on his own.

Sasuke. I first liked him because he was a darker character than Naruto. Most of my fav characters tend to be antiheros and villains. I would not want to meet these characters but i find them interesting.
I think he has the most and some of the best character development in the serires. He had a very gradual descent into darkness. His redemption has also been gradual. Unlike most villains he gets a gradual development as opposed to the overused have one battle/conversation with Naruto and do a 180 because of plot.

Obito - Because I can relate to him. His deep hatred of society and the people of society is something I can relate to. His calm personality is something I love too. He is a master of manipulation, and I love that in an antagonist. Not to mention his character depth. His character is really complex. And his character development is really spot on. His insanity is something I love about him too. The fact that he cannot be swayed by anyone, even Naruto, who was known for his tnj abilities, is totally awesome. And then, he completely convinces Naruto that society is bullshit, and that he should join him. But Hinata slapped him out of it. Obito could make you rethink your whole life and not give a shit.

Itachi, for the strength of his will of fire and the love of his brother that made him able to put the village and his brother ahead of the rest of his family. Danzo knew what his family was planning and was not willing to wait for Hiruzen to come up with a plan. Danzo told Itachi to handle it or if he would not than Danzo would handle it in which case he might not be able to guarantee Sasuke's survival. I also think he chose to kill his family because at least someone who cared about them would be killing them and it would be quick and painless. That would not be guaranteed if Danzo handled it.

His handling of Sasuke was all wrong, which he finally admitted when he was brought back. I do not condone his actions but I admire that he had the courage of his conviction once he made the decision. It was a pretty crappy decision to have to make at the age of 16.

Fu (Root), because he's an example of a more "traditional" ninja - basically a human weapon loyal to his superiors who puts his orders above all else, plus he specializes in non-combat, more ninja-ish skills like trap making and probably things like tracking/intel gathering. And despite this he is still considered an elite ninja (in-universe).
