Okay, here's part 12. Thank you everyone for your praise. Happy late fourth of july. If you're wondering why i left orochimaru's voice without any color is because thats exactly how i picture it: pitch black. Please enjoy:

heres Part 12

“You’re late Obito!” Kakashi pointed as the fourth and most troublesome of their team walked in.

Kakashi wasn’t the only one who was angry. The man in charge of taking the team photos and pictures for the ninja registration form glared at Obito, while Rin and Minato stood by looking embarrassed.

“Sorry, but there was this little old lady!”

Obito explained. “And she had this huge bag, and then I had to tell her where the library was and ow…”

He pushed his goggles back and squeezed eye drops into them.

Minato sighed and turned to the photo man. “I’m very sorry. This happens a lot but he’s a good ninja, really..”

“Whatever, Minato-kun.” The old man leaned against his camera. “I’ll let it slide this time, but you should really whip that boy into shape! Youre his teacher aren’t you! Take some responsibility.”

“Shut it you old geezer.” Kakashi snapped. “What right do you have to call sensei kun? Its Lord Minato to you!”

“Says the guy who used to call him smiley-sensei.” Obito pocketed the eye drops and pushed his goggles back over his eyes. “Just because that’s what most of the villagers call him, doesn’t make it one of your silly laws.”

Kakashi gave Obito the evil eye. “Are you mocking the rules and regulations for shinobi? No true ninja would behave as such, you tardy crybaby of the Uchiha clan.”

The boys entered another one of their famous glare-offs while Minato pulled them in front of him. Rin ran over, placing herself between her teammates and tilting her head at the camera, a smile on her face.

Minato hit both boys on the head and pointed at the camera. “Now look at the camera. I’m paying for this out of my own pocket, as a treasure we can keep with us long after the three of you start to lead your own teams. So behave.”

Kakashi and Obito swallowed their anger and looked at the camera. Obito even smiled. Rin made double victory signs, and Minato leaned down, making an awkward smile and placing his hands on both of the boys’ heads.

A few minutes later, they each received their copies. Printed, framed, and ready to go.
While Minato paid the fee, the three eyed their photos.

“I look kind of silly here.” Rin blinked, rethinking that pose.

Obito dashed over to her, getting in her face and pointing at his own picture.

“No you don’t!” He insisted. “You look beautiful! Sensei’s the one that looks weird.”

Minato chuckled. For some reason, the two of them reminded him of himself and kushina, back when they were still children.

“Kakashi, you could have at least smiled.” Rin told him.

Kakashi looked up. “I am smiling.”

“No you’re not.” Rin tapped her finger against the kakashi in her photo. “Your eyes don’t look happy.’

“So what?”

“When you smile, your eyes look happy.”

“Not if your faking.”

Rin frowned at him. “You are having fun too, right Kakashi? Being on a team with us…”

Kakashi tapped the photo against his chin. “You could say that. Well, I have to go.”

“Good riddance.” Obito muttered, now forgotten by Rin.

“Do you want any help training?” Rin asked.

Minato looked over his shoulder at her. Did kakashi mention training…?

“No I’m fine.” He told her.

Rin left with him anyway.

Minato walked outside with Obito, who was staring longingly after his teammates.

“It won’t always be like this.” Minato leaned down to his eye level. “Rin, you love her right?”

Obito stared at the ground.

“We will become hokage.” Minato promised, patting him on the head.

Obito grinned. “Yeah… Thanks, sensei.”

Minato nodded, and watched the boy run off.

“What cute students you have.”

Minato sat up. “Hello, Orochimaru. Do you have some business with me?”

Orochimaru leered at him. Minato was never sure what to think of this man, who was Jiraiya-sensei’s best friend and had always looked at Minato and Fuji like they were something to eat.

“Not really.” He replied. “Just passing through. Apparently I’ve been called to the battlefield to perform emergency surgery on a young man. Of course, its nowhere near as bad as yours was.”

Minato placed a hand over his side. Some time after Kushina’s retrieval, a check up by lady tsunade unearthed the fact that an infection was growing within some of Minato’s cells as an after effect of sealing the injuries inflicted upon him by Kushina within his own body. Orochimaru ad Tsunade had to perform emergency surgery that had a very small chance of survival.

“I should hope so…” Minato said.

A moment of silence passed between them before Minato broke eye contact.

“I have to go.” He said before Orochimaru clapped a hand on his shoulder and leaned down to whisper in his ear.

“I heard from Jiraiya about the tomato you’re growing in your backyard.” He told him.

Minato’s heart stopped cold. Kushina…

“What about it?”

“Oh, just be careful…” Orochimaru said in a tone that made it obvious the classified, completely secret relationship
between Minato and Kushina amused him. “Tomatos are tricky. Don’t let it spoil before its even ripe. Oh, and another
thing…”

“What is it?” Minato glared ahead without looking at him.

“About your desire to be hokage.” He mused. “Danzo and myself are submitting our own names for consideration.”

“But Danzo can’t—”

“Thanks to me he can.” Orochimaru muttered before releasing Minato. “And you’d best be careful. I hear young Itachi has become a candidate for root.”

Minato whirled around to glare at him, only to find him long gone.

“Danzo wants itachi in root…?” Minato clenched his fists. “Over my dead body…”

He sighed and headed home, trying to consider what to do. He had to keep the boy away from Danzo and Orochimaru, who were way too interested in the Uchiha. It was one thing to protect his allies and their loved ones away from outside enemies. But within konha it was a lot more difficult. Should he warn Fuji? But what good would that do? As the clan was still exercising the same precautions as they did during the Namikaze clans reign of terror, Itachi was only allowed within the clans private training grounds, the academy, and his own home. Recently he had been spending time with Shisui, Kagami’s second son who was already proving himself a natural talent, unlike obito. And cadets were no longer being sent on missions, thanks to Minato who persuaded the counsel ages ago. If possible, he wanted his best friends to live a relaxed life with their son, without having to worry about the inside enemies.

But the Uchiha were relatives and descendants of Madara, who used the nine tails, which was now sealed within Kushina, to attack the village. The friendship between kushina and mikoto, as well as the relationship between Minato and the entire clan and his history with Fuji… Danzo was starting to use these against the Uchiha. He was coming close to convincing the counsel to move the entire clan into the same spot within the village, tighten security around it, and have daily and nightly patrols done by root within it.

If anything, anything at all, happened to put the Uchiha in a bad position, it could spell the end for them…

He’ll grow so old his teeth’ll fall out.

Minato leaned his head back and squeezed his eyes shut. Fuji, Mikoto… What is this awful feeling I have, growing in the pit of my belly…

Minato turned the doorknob and pushed it the door open.

Its like all my worst fears have burrowed down inside of me, and rooted there into some kind of knot…

He closed the door and was immediately tackled by a flying ball of red hair. Sliding to the ground, he heard Kushina laugh.

“Minato! You’re home!”

Once on the floor, he peeled his face off the door and turned over, finding Kushina laying on top of him.

“That hurt.” He told her, and brushed some of her bangs out of her face.

“Its not my fault!” She grinned. “You spend all your time working. And I’m not allowed to leave here as easily as you do… Mikoto has to pretend to bring all the extra food over and clean the house just to talk to me.”

Minato looked around. “So that’s why it always looks nice in here. Is that what you’ve been doing with your free time?”

“Yep!” She rested her head against his chest. “Nobody expects the red-hot-habanero who beat up all the boys to be a house-girlfreind. Especially not yours…”

Minato frowned. She said that with a smile, but he could tell it was painful for her to have to sneak around and hide like this. Now that they were older, the third was afraid she could get pregnant at any time, and was suspending her missions indefinitely. So, unlike him and most of their classmates, she had no students.

He sat up, hugging her tightly.“I’m sorry… It won’t always be like this, I promise. Once I become hokage, we’ll get married and I wont be going on missions anymore either. Then we can have more time together… And hopefully it wont be a secret for much longer either."

She looked up at him. “Are you okay? You’ve been acting weird lately. Mikoto told me you’ve been fighting with Orochimaru and Danzo and some of the other counsel members.”

Minato rested his head on his shoulder. “Theres some tension right now, with so many people entering there name for consideration. But don’t worry. We’re not fighting just… Debating.”

That wasn’t a lie really.

“Are you hungry?” She asked. “I made dinner.”

Minato smiled. “Kushina, thank you.”

“Eh? For what?”

“For everything…” He pulled back and got to his feet before helping her up. “You’re refreshing, I guess… You keep my mind off some of the bad stuff for a while.”

She raised her eyebrows defensively. “So im an energy drink?”

He laughed. “Yeah something, like that…”

you know, Kishimoto ounce mentioned that he may make a Minato spin off series. This honestly is how I imagine it would be like
Thank you. Really, im just trying to fill in the holes. Ive always imagined minato as freinds with one of or both of sasukes parents, and that he would try to protect them when Danzo threatened them. His relationship with kushina was more than likely a highly classified secret, because of Kushina being a jinchuuriki. And Minato would dote a little on Itachi, since he was the child of his closest freinds, and would try to protect him too. I hope kishi gives us a minato spin off series sometime in the future. I would love to know his real story, if it is at all similar to the one i made upfor fun or if kishi will really surprise us...
