In my opinion MS didn't literally translate the manga this time, for that panel they had some of their own spice thrown in, I doubt they wanted to cause religious controverse or whatever, no need to get pissy just because of that word, heck I didn't even gave a f*** first time reading it and the NB makes a big goddam deal about it.

The more literal term in Japanese is a very rude way of saying traitor. Obito is talking down to Sasuke. The Japanese I know think that Madara will team up with Hashi to fight Obito.

Thanks for clarifying.

I was catolic, but now I'm atheist. I'm not a "believer".

For that reason, I lost respect *********** for a week. It made me feel like Naruto was influenced by Western religious culture for a Week... yuck.

I lost respect for *********** the moment they had Naruto say "cajolery" and it all went downhill from there.

Agreed, after all Kishi has fans from many different backgrounds/ religions.

This is exactly why the *********** translation fails. It is something that only Christians understand and everyone else in the world is left hanging, not able to understand wtf he is talking about or when the ninja Judas had anything to do with Obito's plans.

Pretty sure most people will know why the word Judas was used, I did and I'm not Christian. This was translated from Japanese to English where most people know some Christianity so that's why they used the name, not a big deal to be made of is it?

Bolded words: True.

But can you really generalize?

It's kinda a lack of respect for people who don't know about Christianity or any related religion.

It's not a generalization. You have to accept that the term 'Judas' is more than just a biblical allusion. People are getting all pissy over this, when they don't know anything.

People misuse the word 'Jihad' from the Qur'an ALL the time, and no one gives two hoots. A translator from a manga uses the word 'Judas' in a proper context and people go crazy.

Learn not to judge things for its face value. Just because you know the story of Judas Iscariot, it doesn't mean the term 'Judas' is strictly a biblical reference. The term has evolved from more than that. Do some research.

It would be a different story if they said 'Judas Iscariot', but they didn't.

I'm slowly getting upset, because the new arguments that comes have less and less relationships with things I have told. So maybe I should go out and drink some beers... Whatever, I can't expect comprehension from people if they can't even read objectively (Hint: Red bolded paragraph). Bye.
