Why did Obito even attack Konoha 16 years ago?

The uchiha had distrust since tobirama's reign. Even if the village was destroyed the uchihas would still be living regardless of what minato did. He can still approach them just like how he approached the ame orphans.

Kakashi did that with 3 times his normal chakra levels(kurama chakra)
obito at that point it time didn't have enough chakra to do such a feat.

i know all that but if you want to plant mistrust between two parties both parties has to exist. If he is going to destroy one party then the plan wasn't to plant mistrust. The plan was to destroy/eliminate. Whether the other party had mistrust on the other, it doesn't matter because that party doesn't exist. I don't know how i can explain it to you any better.

obito had more than enough chakra to do it. He had hashirama's cell. obito must probably have 5 times the chakra that kakashi has. Just count how many times kakashi had to be restored to keep fighting while obito didn't have none.

them trusting the leaf or not trusting the leaf is not necessary for obito to approach them.
