What if Obito didn't use seals to become the Juubi's Jinchuuriki, but the Juubi itself possesed Obito's weakened body?

I tried to re-watch the manga from other perspective... I find this could be a tremendous twist.

It looks as if Obito is in control, why else would his face appear on the Juubi, and how he yelled "Jinchuuriki!!!".

Yes it would be a great twist, but the Juubi is simply power, no conscience. It's simply the manifestation of strife, not intelligent enough to formulate a plan. That's why it was being controlled by Obito and Madara.

If your theory is true, why would obito say "how can you be sure the war is over" right before becoming the jinjuriki? He obviously knew what he was doing.

That aside, you're right. But this chapter leaves us a lot of enigmas... I can't assure anything. That's why I opened this thread... to see if there are other point of views.

There is a thing that doesn't fits... Obito just used Rinne Tensei, a Jutsu that needs great chakra level to be executed and surviving. Obito just lost lifespan (white hair), that means he had zero chakra after the failed attempt for Madara's revival.

And the process to become Jinchuuriki is one that requires a sealing... Fuuinjutsus need chakra... how did Obito managed to become Jinchuuriki? That's why I thought about the possibility of not being Obito the one who executed the sealing ritual, but the Juubi itself who decided to take over the body for some unknown reason (for example, reaching final form).

We do know for certain that Obito knew something was up. Otherwise, the look upon his countenance when he stated, "How can you be sure that the war will end..." would not have been that of a smirk.

We can gather the indirect implication that Obito -- at the very least -- induced the process of becoming the Jinchuriki, regardless of whether he had the chakra capacity/lifeforce to perform the feat in entirety at that point or not.
It is indeed possible at this point that the Jūbi's chakra was the source of whatever method was used, with only a fraction of Obito's own chakra serving as the catalyst.

Do I believe that this is probable? Meh, not really.
However, that chapter was such a WTF chapter that we don't know what to think, now do we?

I dont think he ran out of chakra. I think this is showing zetsu taking over his body. Which would explain where he got chakra from. He used Zetsus chakra.

Impossible. He has been the entire war spending chakra. By you logic, Obito (having half-Senju DNA) has more chakra than a half Uzumaki (almost 3 times) that has been recharging chakra at least two times in the war?

I doesn't make sense.

What if Obito took the chakra Madara was using for the Rinne Tensei for the seal? Still it doesn't explain how Obito became the Juubi's Jinchuuriki... Maybe there is a different process to become a Jinchuuriki for the 10 tails because of the amount of chakra it has? I dunno :dunno:

Obito didn't yell Jinchuuriki...where do you see that? Naruto is the one who said "The Jinchuuriki of the ten tails". Not Obito.

I agree anything is possible. Even with Obito's Rinnegan, it just doesn't make sense how he all of a sudden absorbed the Juubi to become it's Jin. Look at what Minato had to do to make Naruto the Kyuubi's Jin, he had to do a bunch of hand signs to make a seal and altar appear, then another hand sign to actually do the sealing of the Kyuubi inside of Naruto. Obito was lying there on the Juubi's head, dying, and not moving. And then he just absorbs it? I don't know, dumb if you ask me.

The only other thing I can think of, is maybe Obito reconnected to the Juubi, the way he and Madara were connected before, with the little tethers. Maybe he created a tether out of his stomach, and since he was already lying on his stomach on the Juubi, you can't see it. If he did that, it could be a combination of your theory and Obito doing it himself. Like if he created the tether to gain what little control of the Juubi he could, he used that control to tell the Juubi to take over his body, or absorb itself into Obito. That way it would be the Juubi doing everything, but at the control of Obito.

Or it's just plot no jutsu and whatever, Obito magically did everything that needed to be done to become a Jin whilst dying on the head of the Juubi.
