Re: Byakugan is weaker than sharingan
Well when a main character is an Uchiha the eyes tend to get more development...
But the Byakugan goes up until the 3-Tomoe...after that it falls behind.
Visual abilities
3-Tomoe: can see chakra, copy techniques the user has an affinity for, read movements
Byakugan: near 360 degree vision, vision zooming, see chakra to an intense degree, see when genjutsu is activated, see opponents while avoiding direct eye contact.
Taijutsu
3-Tomoe: allows movement reading
Byakugan: allows for gentle fist which would quickly render enemies unable to use chakra or any KKG traits (I.e. the sharingan). Even if a 3-Tomoe user blocks, the tenketsu in the arms can still be targeted.
Ninjutsu
3-Tomoe: Copy ninjutsu you have an affinity for jutsu you have, apply movement reading to jutsu (chidori)
Byakugan: See chakra build up for jutsu, rotation to defend ranged attacks, Air Palm, air wall palm, Twin lion fists (power to be determined).
Genjutsu
3-Tomoe: Enables Genjutsu affinity....powerful genjutsu
Byakugan: allows one to detect the activation of genjutsu. 360ish vision allows for indirect eye contact to avoid eye genjutsu
If you give people with the exact same talents, intelligence, and strength....I'd say the Byakugan wins for IMO it is taking the lead in visual bonuses, taijutsu, and genjutsu (simply making the Uchiha bonus for it useless), and ve jutsu that are capable of countering ninjutsu.
