3. ^This. Alot of people don't seem to understand how an Edo's chakra reserves work. Have you ever played Naruto ultimate storm? The characters have the same chakra guage the entire time but they never run out of chakra as chakra can simply be replenished. The chakra that gets used up comes right back to them since they aren't alive. This is the case with an Edo's chakra.

They have a limit becuase they must keep the barrier up, which requires alot of chakra.

By making clones they split there reserves in half, so there is only so many clones they can make without effecting their ability to maintain the barrier.

Because even as an Edo they can't use more chakra then what they have and using the red barrier is a huge chakra consumer so they don't have enough left over to make hundreds of clones

They have an endless supply of chakra, yes. But they still have a limited amount of chakra they store at one time -- which is known as their chakra reserves.

Think of it as a cup. Kakashi has an 8 oz. cup. Naruto has a 32 oz. cup. Therefore, Naruto can make 4x as many clones as Kakashi can. With the Edo-Tensei zombies, even though they have unlimited chakra, they can only have so much chakra at one time. If Hiruzen has a 10 oz. cup, he can only make 25% more clones at one time than Kakashi can.

Not to mention, creating clones means you have to split your concentration on them. The more clones you produce, the weaker each one is, especially if the main body is already using a lot of focus on himself.

That being said, I believe the idea of chakra reserves and limited concentration affects even Edo-Tensei zombies from creating an infinite amount of clones.

The amount of chakra they have (chakra pool) stays the same but when it runs out it comes back again without resting for long periods or dying.

They still have a set amount of chakra they can use, it just constantly regens. So they can't make infinite clones while maintaining the barrier.

Hashirama cant use as many clones as madara on account he has to hold that barrier and he has sage mode on. theres downsides to edo tensei
