That would have been an ideal time to use Kage Bunshin.

Hence it implies the combination is too draining for alive-Minato.

Attacking the person making the argument, not the argument, further indicates that what I said was valid.

Minato has Kurama now. So don't attribute current feats to him without Kurama. It's simple.

He used Kage Bunshin with Hiraishin with the KCM cloak though.

It's debatable if he would do so while alive.

And him not doing so against Obito/Kurama suggests both jutsu at once was too chakra-heavy.

But having Kage Bunshin alone is a great tool, so it's a definite plus for him.

It can be produced by even shinobi's with lesser chakra than naruto, (but at the same time the fox's chakr does determine how much he can produce , though by himself he can produce a fair few), like kakashi however the division of the chakra amongst the clones is what makes it impractical.

However he can use it

Naruto was able to do kage bunshin which is a kinjutsu from the scroll using his OWN chakra but his chakra alone can't summon bunta. Common sense will tell us that summoning bunta takes large amount of chakra than performing those clones in part 1 because Naruto needed Kurama's help.

If Minato can summon bunta, teleport Tbb, suppress the seal, FTG, perform RDS and 8 trigrams, then it's safe to say that he has the chakra to create kage bunshin when he was alive.

he obviously could make a bunshin while alive. itachi made a bunshin when he was around ten and his stamina's pathetic. and naruto made 2,000 of them at 12 years old. hiruzen made 2 with pathetic stamina...

using a bunshin vs kurama would be stupid, what's it going to do apart from space/time barriers? minato could barely seal the thing at full strength, let alone at half.

i guess the implications of minato having ftg is that he can double on the opponent to put a mark on him, and then use a hidden bunshin to go for the kill while the opponent's off guard (with the real minato a fair distance away) I guess. which means that he wouldnt have to hold the bunshin for very long. he still has the massive element of surprise with ftg so he doesn't really need to use bunshin, but it would make a good alternative strategy in tight spots I suppose.

I don't think that's it. Minato probably knew that he had to take care of Obito first and decided the using clones against either of them would be useless. He probably didn't want to take a risk with either and wanted to fight each with his full power. If he could hold Kurama inside his body before he died, I don't think shadow clones would be a problem. Besides, Hiruzen and the entire village was fighting Kurama. He probably trusted them to take care of themselves until he could beat Obito. Another thing, Obito's abilities were largely unkown. He had no idea what he was capable of. It would be stupid to cut his stamina in half against an opponent like him.


Also, Kakashi can use shadow clones effectively, and he has the worst stamina in the manga. Are you telling me that Minato has less chakra than Kakashi?

Who knows maybe this is only possible in Edo with larger quantities of chakra maybe having your chakra split in 2 and managing to perform an accurate teleport while fighting is too hard because of the chakra coNtroll possibly needed


like someone stated the kyubii attack should have beeen handled differently then. Or possibly its a newer ability granted by dawning the chakra cloak, I'm sure min knew what he was doing
