This chapter confirms that Minato could have killed him anytime he wanted. That seriously question myself about why he didn't kill him back then? Is it because the protection of Konoha was a priority?

He didn't know it was obito til he was right up in his face. and when he marked him during the konoha attack he did womp him with his rasengan, then obito vanished and Minato had bigger worries, then he died.

Perhaps back then, Minato could recognize that it was Obito's chakra, but was super unsure.

He had to take care of the nine-tails, which was ripping up the village, remember?

Pretty much, but he had to deal with the Kyuubi. He'd neutralized the threat of Obito so that he could shift his attention onto protecting the village.

Sure, he could have chose to pursue Obito (and he probably would have if he survived), but what's the point of being Hokage if your entire village gets destroyed? He would have failed in his duty to protect the villagers, which comes above chasing rogue shinobi outside of the village walls.

the almighty plot prevented him from jumping one last time and wasting one second to decapitate him.(which is more than enough to get back to the village, and save it)

The plothole here is that Minato could have sealed the Juubi into Kushina, as she suggested, and then have gone after Obito and kill him.

However, he chose to seal the Kyubi into Naruto, so that Naruto could kill Obito 16 years later.

WHY WOULD HE DO SUCH STUPID THING? XD I don't know.

The Leaf was his main priority.. Protecting baby Naruto and Kushina as best as he could.. Obito was lucky back then.

Minato should have decapitated him in the last chapter. Always take the head off, just to be sure.

Haha totally agree he could have used FTG kagebunshin back then to terminate Obito for good at same time he teleported to the village.

PNJ prevents a lot of things in narutoverse. Or when the dead come back to life you wonder why they did not do that skill when they were alive. The 4th made obito look like a fodder but could not kill him 16yrs ago:rage:
