Why don't MS users just trade eyes?

So, Madara and Izuna both had MS. Well, why didn't they just give each other each others eyes so they would both get EMS? I might be missing something, but i don't think you need your eyes and another persons set of eyes for EMS.

The trading part seems like it would make sense but, after reading FTG's post, I realized one of the eyes must have the light already for it to work.

To get EMS in the first place you probably have to be closely related by blood I believe, just switching MS with another Uchiha doesn't give you EMS. Even if they may be related to all Uchiha, you need a relative with closer genetics to yourself. Izuna - Madara / Sasuke - Itachi. I'm not sure if Itachi could have implanted Shisui's eye into one of his sockets and get EMS, which I doubt because of what I said above.

1.Izuna died from the wound Tobirama give him during the fight between the Uchiha and the Senju.

2.One of the eyes don't have light in them....so, Madara giving Izuna(if he was alive)his eyes would be pointless do the fact Madara eyes had no light.

because it is the fusion of the eyes the creates ems not the switching .....that is why they have both designs because it is a combo of both the eyes

Well, EMS wasn't known to Madara and Izuna until izuna was already dead, and since sasuke didn't get MS until after Itachi died, they couldn't trade to begin, but even if Sasuke had it when he fought Itachi, they were in no circumstance to team up and trade eyes since Sasuke hated him at that time.

That was never confirmed or even mention, plus when Sasuke confronted Edo Itachi he said " because these are your eyes" so he clearly had itachi's eyes and not his own. Also, had would two eyes fit in one eye socket anyway? lol
