Kurenai took more than 2 seconds to cast it. I'm not saying she needs to stay imobile for 5 min (like some people make it seem).
He simply puts up the mist first and then its just a matter of time.

Zabuza's Genjutsu is the same as Kisame's accoriding to the data book so he will definitely know to bight his lip. He has the sharp teeth for it too.
